I’m 22 and have recently become homeless by choice. I’ll keep it brief, should I tell potential employers I’m homeless or show up to the interview as clean as possible?

Edit: The reason I ask is because I’ve got a bigass backpack with me and I hate separating from it. It’s a dead giveaway that I’m homeless though

I know this is a very subjective question, however I’m curious to know what kind of gear everyone carries. I recently finished a thru hike of the Appalachian trail and the gear I’m currently rocking is the same as my hike. 65 liter bag, Nemo tent and sleeping pad, sleeping bag, etc.

What do you guys carry? Any tips on what I should have on me as well? Thanks

I’m a 22 year old man, and life has pushed me to the point where it is time I must leave the nest. I’m excited about this decision and will be traveling the American east coast for a while before making my way west. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on staying as safe as possible especially when it comes to finding places to sleep. Any help is appreciated!

Also I am doing this on a very low budget

Getting ready for a hitchhiking/freighthopping trip around the United States and was wondering what pack I should invest in. Right now I have the Osprey Atmos AG 60 liter but it is heavier than I’d like it to be. Any recommendations?

As the title says I am new to hitchhiking. I have been thru-hiking the AT for about a month now and will need to make it to Washington DC from somewhere in central Virginia (near the trail) in about a month. I need to time it right, so any advice on how to improve my chances of getting rides? And if anyone is familiar with the trail does anyone have any advice on how I might go about getting to DC? Thanks to anyone who can help!
