Does Sutter not accept the NHA as a MA certification?

I heard from my friend who works at Sutter that they don't take people who have the NHA certification. I want to retake the exam with AMT RMA, which is more preferred by Sutter, but I have quite a few barriers to being eligible for the exam (ex. having to order a final transcript from US Career Institute, having to email a doctor who I am not on friendly terms with to verify I volunteered 160 hours at Knights Landing One Health Center, doing medical assistant activities).

Note: I am in the Sacramento-Davis area as well and entering my 4th year in college.

What are some of the best advice for incoming seniors?

I remember all the posts about this topic for freshmen, but I wanted to flip the script and ask for advice for seniors.

What do you wish you had done for your last year? What made it the best?

Mrs. GREEN APPLE song recommendations (that are not as mainstream)

Hello! I am a Mrs. GREEN APPLE fan. Many say the songs are repetitive and generic, and I can agree that the sound of the mainstream songs may kind of fall into that category. (TBH, I also actually skip their mainstream songs because I sometimes find that they are repetitive).

So, if anyone is interested, here is some "different" songs from MGA and Motoki Omori!

P.S. I am someone who listens to music for the lyrics, songwriting process and interpret it as a form of writing and art turned into sound!

Apollodorus - About continuing through life, despite difficulties
"Even though I love beautiful flowers, Be a flower that can boast of its wounds"

Bitter Vacancies - A song about taking a break sometimes, and not comparing yourself to those who are ahead of you. Admitting that you'd rather be liked by everyone sometimes, or that you might not know about building connections with others-- and that's okay!

StaRt - Their debut song, Starting over when you forget to appreciate love
"I wonder how I can increase the number of “I don’t wanna forget"s.

If love isn’t noticed when insignificant then

Let’s return to the start"

Kotaeawase - written and sang by Motoki Omori, not MGA. About childhood, written in the perspective of a child singing-- Sometimes, making mistakes, going home in the sunset and saying goodbye to your friends after school. Meaning comparing tests answers in Japanese. My favorite part of the song is where is says Mom's Love, Dad's Love, which thoughtfully includes children who raised by a single parent.

WanteD! WanteD! -a fun song with a unique sound

Unloveless - Focusing on giving love to others, rather than desiring love all the time to fill one's void. You aren't loveless if you can be a supply of love those you care about.

lovin' - loving someone through all the difficult times, admitting its normal to get sad sometimes

New My Normal - omg, my favorite.... I love how it sounds, and its lyrics. once again, embracing pain, being so happy that you're shy to say thank you,

Why do people say Mrs. GREEN APPLE is the most radio friendly?

I notice this in mostly posts by foreigners instead of Japan. I considered maybe it’s because they are listening to how the music sounds instead of the meaning that the lyrics are trying to convey. I watch a lot of the behind the scenes of Mrs. GREEN APPLE song writing and composing. I see that Motoki Ohmori puts so much thought and depth into his expression through his lyrics?

To me, to say that it’s just generic, radio friendly music does not acknowledge of the deeper meaning of the lyrics. But it’s just an opinion that I’ve seen only made by foreigners, as I read a few Japanese articles about MGA’s music. I will admit a few of their songs do repeat certain themes or sounds, so there might be little less variety.

MGA loves recognizing the good and bad in the world, and embracing pain and sadness, like in Apollodorus, which Motoki Omori wrote when he was 18 for the 2024 Paris Winter Olympics.

Please let me know your thoughts! I’m curious to understand more.

Edit: here's a post with my favorite songs from MGA (not mainstream!) this is why I like them. I totally forgot most people know MGA by their mainstream songs, which I can definitely agree they get repetitive fast...

Anyone have study tips for MIC102/MMG102 with SINGER?

My goal is to get an A for summer session with him, what’s the best way to do that? What helped you? What should I know about him as a professor?

I heard he’s blunt at times, gets frustrated easily, asks complex questions on exams (but it’s possible to get used to his test writing style). How did you guys deal with that?

How do PA programs interpret traumatic incidents in admissions?

I was sexually abused for my freshman year, financially abused my sophomore year, and psychologically and emotionally abused for 3 years.

CHE 2A - General Chem: C+

CHE 118A - OChem: C+

PHY 7A - General Physics: C

CHE 118B - OChem: C

Cumulative GPA: 3.40

Science GPA: 3.04

This is the impact on my grades. Will PA school understand my struggles and understand that it was not my academic skills, but my health being impacted? Like will I be given more grace if I show a really nice upward trend? (Targetting a cGPA of 3.55 and a sGPA of 3.38, assuming I work hard enough to get all A's).

I have 4 C's, is it worth retaking the classes?

I'm currently a 3rd year, with 38 units left.

CHE 2A - General Chem: C+

CHE 118A - OChem: C+

PHY 7A - General Physics: C

CHE 118B - OChem: C

Cumulative GPA: 3.40
Science GPA: 3.04

Post Bacc can be expensive, and my other choice would be to retake it at a community college. My GPA is lower because I had 3 abusive relationships during each year of my undergraduate (finally got out of them), I also got diagnosed with PTSD due to what happened to me.

How did you get into Sutter Health as a Medical Assistant?

I personally have 1.3 years of experience as a medical assistant volunteer at a free clinic and I really want to get into Sutter for their high quality level of care for their patients.

How do you pass an interview?

I keep getting rejected. I’ve been through 2 interviews, then offered 1 interview (then ghosted since I replied 2 days later— they were offering interview after 24 hours of sending the interview). I did not pass either of them. The most recent interviewer said she would contact me today to let me know the results, but it’s approaching the off hours of the clinic and I think she’s going to reject me. I was supposed to get a clinical assessment on Tuesday if I passed the interview.

I applied to 30 jobs, with 1.3 years of experience as an MA volunteer. Got a certification from NHA, trained virtually by US Career Institute. I’m from the Sacramento-Davis area in California.

What can I do better? What helped you pass your interview?

I might have a clinical assessment on Tuesday, and I don’t have any experience with injections.

I did my training online with US career institute, so I’ve never been able to practice injections. Should I just be upfront and say that I am not confident with doing injections but I am willing to learn under the guidance of a provider?

They will be assessing me on basic medical assistant skills if I passed the first interview round.

Does it make sense if people immediately sit in the blue seats on bus when boarding, even when red seats are available?

Just wondering, is it improper to do that? Or does it make sense because most people usually don’t need the priority seating?
