This line 1 windsor has a brass badge adhered to it, i assume line 1s were cheaper in their time relatively.

Ive removed these things before on older ronson lighters (or they just fell off when bolt breaking the fuel cap) and I am wondering if anyone has a better idea than my plan, or if they have tweaks or suggestions.

My supposition is its held on with some kind of strong glue since thats what ive encountered with other ones, if its solder the lacquer is cooked but it already needs a bit of restoration on the sides so maybe thats not as big of a deal im thinking. Based on when i think this particular one probably came out its going to be some kind of glue.

My idea is to get the base metal very cold, probably using butane, while using a heat gun to get it warm then butane spray the body and use a soldering iron on the badge to get as much thermal expansion on the badge and as much thermal contraction on the body as possible.

Once that is achieved ive got a very powerful aquarium air pump to really just shake the bejesus out of it which i sort of discovered lately is super useful for a few other difficult tasks that nobody seems to have thought of using it for.

The phone is in mint condition and was paid of and all that stuff. Right now the phone works fine other than this hurdle. Its my girlfriends phone so its not stolen shes on a 12 mini. I was using a samsung galaxy note 20 ultra, possibly the most scuffed device to ever be released not that samsung hasnt made a good phone since the s2. ANYWAYS

So charged it, turned it on, att sim inserted (because company went i thought surely the government would allow everyones phone to become bricked, right?) and it says it needs an update to update carrier settings, here we go! So i go to update ios, not connected to internet it says, check connection, i am connected to internet. Look online, says update carrier settings, i update carrier settings. FREEZE. home button is the only way to get a response and it just exits to home screen of course. No error message or anything just a soft freeze and no results (very samsung-esque) so this is where i am stuck and coming here.

Am i wasting my time? How do i solve this? I am about to plug it in to PC to update through itunes but thats been a disaster every single time ive tried it on other iphones.

Any ideas?

And while ive come here to complain i am going to do something about it. Bought 3 duponts, all fake. Its personal. Seller of one claims to be in spain and wants to make returns difficult. HERE IS THE THING-i asked for refund not return, im not sending back fraudulent goods so they can be sold as authentic again and ive demanded proof they tell all the other buyers of their duponts they bought fake lighters for hundreds of dollars in some cases. Im not sending them back and i want my money back, im destroying them i find their existence noisome and offensive. This person has made hundreds of dollars of this blatant scam in a single day. Id like to sell people things that belong in a landfill for hundreds of dollars too, but i have this thing called integrity. Scammers need life in prison.

I dont know about you guys usually id just get a refund and let this go-not this time. The fact I have to do forensic analysis on every listing i want to buy wasting a bunch of time infuriates me. The fact S T Dupont has no database to cross reference serial numbers proves to me french incompetence because WHY EVEN HAVE SERIAL NUMBERS! It would be like if here in america we put serial numbers on firearms and just never bothered to jot them down anywhere.

Im going to be hall monitoring the st dupont listings and demanding sellers relist as fugazzi or take down the listing preferably, then still report them so there is a record of that sellers bullshit. If you want to tell me i should have expected a fake for 60 bucks-nope. Ive accuired authentic dunhill lighters for 52 and 61 dollars there is no excuses for this that would satisfy me. I would encourage anyone with the time and temperment to join me in my crusade against fake and gay chinese knock off chunks of garbage metal. Why do we even trade with the chinese at this point?! is anything they send us not inferior to the same thing made by literally anyone else? even Togo?
