Picked him up for $40 was I scammed?

Picked up these two beauties for $100

Are there any good quality and decently priced pickguards in Tortoise shell color that would fit my vintera ii? It needs to be 8 holes and line up with a 50s style MIM Strat. A backplate in this color would be great as well. The first photo is of my guitar, the second is what I want it to look like. Mind the Rosewood and the bridge pickup. Any help is appreciated.

My Uncle Got this from a Pawn Shop and gifted it to me, can anyone help me find out more about more about the ring, who it belonged to, and the price?

The ring is marked Balfour 10K and features the text United States Army engraved on the exterior.

The right side of the ring depicts a griffin holding a sword in front of a globe, accompanied by an American flag.

The left side of the ring features an eagle with a United States shield, with the Latin phrase E Pluribus Unum displayed above it.

On the Interior is the name George Wobush (Not George W Bush) and the Branding Balfour 10k.

Ps. I already posted a post similar to this on r/army but didn't get anything too helpful: they said it was worthless and just a basic training ring, but isn't what I found when I researched it. I couldn't find anything with the same design and similar rings sold for as little as $100 and as much as $2000.

Edit. My Uncle Got this ring in a pawnshop in Vietnam so I thought It may have some connection to the war.
