Free range questions

I have a flock of 20 chickens and 1 goose and I want to free range them.

​

I have no idea where to start or if I am able to as the neighbors dogs have been a constant issue granted it's been less and less of an issue because of American fireball magic.

​

Is there some kind of training to do or do these guys just know where home is?

​

Im a little but hesitant to just open the door and say be free little dudes

Mr Cogburn Lobotomized my Steelie

So I went to let my chickens out this morning to be a nice husband as I was leaving a tad late for work anyways when I opened the coop door I turned around and grabbed the feeders and waterers I had just filled and I tripped over a hen....well the hen started clucking and bkawing as stressed hens do...I am teeter tottering around spewing expletives trying to regain my balance and not further trample on a hen and I hear the battle cry of Rooster Cogburn and fwoop fwoop fwoop fwoop of wings and feet against denim and a very very sharp pain in may calf and after launching him much similarly to a football at the world cup I look to see he has lobotomized my Grateful dead tattoo....YAY great start to my day

So starts the wait for ayam cemanis

Waited all last week and all this week for my order of 10 ayam cemani eggs and the company i ordered them from sent an even dozen very impressively i can't wait to see how it turns out

I had a hen that went broody and after 30 days of sitting i decided to intervine and do a switcheroo now she has babies and is very protective
