NAR and sleep apnea

41/m. I've struggled with NAR and fragmented sleep for 20 years. I was recently diagnosed with mild sleep apnea which is probably why I have the fragmented sleep. I'm wondering if my NAR is a contributing factor in all of this. My nose is always congested. I use Flonase which usually helps for a few hours but then I'm back to mouth breathing.

A doctor has prescribed CPAP but I've read this can be particularly difficult for people with NAR and sometimes not help at all. The machine will cost me $750 and I'm wondering if I should first see an ENT to see if there's anything they can do for my sinuses instead? NAR is something I've just learned to live with this so I'm out of the loop as to whether there is anything they can even do for me.

Symptoms getting worse since taking b12 and folate. Wake-up symptoms?

Hello, 40/m here. Began experiencing brief tingling sensations in my hands and feet about 7 months ago. Went to a neurologist who did some blood work and found that my b12 is 189 and folate serum is 7.2 He recommended I take a b12 1,000 mcg supplement and 1mg of folate daily.

I ended up going with 5,000 mcg methyl b12 from Kirkland brand and for folate I've been taking "EZ Melts" brand methyl folate 1,667 mcg DFE which I guess is equal to 1mg. I also did a b12 shot to kick things off. I know the 5,000 mcg is more than what my doctor suggested but I read it doesn't matter because your body will only take what it needs.

It's been 3 weeks now and my symptoms have actually gotten worse. I've been struggling with this profound fatigue that's like nothing I've ever felt before. The tingling sensations are about the same, no better no worse.

My GI doctor tested me for pernicious anemia, thyroid issues, intrinsic factor and other deficiencies but everything came back normal. My diet is rich in b12 so she's baffled by this.

Is this on par with wake up symptoms? How long can this last?

mild sleep apnea, but significant symptoms?

40/m. I've struggled with fragmented sleep for nearly 20 years now. Every single night I wake up around 3x to get a sip of water because my throat feels dry. I always assumed it was because I sleep with a fan on. It's a bad habit but I can't sleep without it.

But then I started to occasionally wake up with headaches. Other times, I wake up and can feel my heart racing. I honestly can't remember the last time I had a dream. I can't remember the last time I woke up feeling rested. Recently, the daytime fatigue has been overwhelming. It feels like all the years of horrible sleep are starting to catch up with me.

A few months ago I did a Lofta sleep study and was expecting pretty bad results. But it came back mild. I really don't know what to make of it. Is Lofta accurate? Should I still be anticipating that I'll need to do cpap or are there alternatives for mild cases like myself? Any advice is appreciated.

Lofta results: Obstructive Sleep Apnea (G47.33) - Mild, based on pAHI= 10.6 and pRDI= 25, and O2 nadir of 91%.

Shortness of breath, fatigue and palpitations after eating?

I've been dealing this with for about 8 months. It usually occurs within 1 to 2 hours of eating. It comes on gradually, lasts around 30 minutes and then fades away. Sitting definitely make it worse. Standing and laying down are okay. It can happen with small meals but large meals are obviously worse. Even certain drinks like coffee or citrus can make it happen. In the beginning this was a once a month thing. Now it's an everyday thing.

I went to a GI doctor because it coincided with some GERD symptoms. Mainly bloating and gas but also occasional feelings of acid in my chest. My doctor prescribed Protonix which made the GERD symptoms go away but I still get the shortness of breath and fatigue during these spells. I also get palpitations. Sometimes my stomach moves in conjunction with my heartbeat. It feels like my heart is racing but I always check my pulse and BP and it's always normal.

I asked the doctor about a hiatal hernia but they don't think that's it. They tested me for H. Pylori and pernicious anemia because my b12 is low but everything came back normal. Doctor wants me to focus on bringing my b12 to normal.

To be honest, my symptoms weird me out. Especially the palpitations. I'm hesitant to eat because of it. And there is no consistency to it either. One day eating a banana is okay. The next day a banana triggers it.

Has anyone ever experienced this? What did it end up being for you?
