S.T. Dupont Andy Warhol Elvis Presley 1964 Limited Edition — Real or Fake? What's it worth without box/papers?
Hey everyone,
I came across this S.T. Dupont Andy Warhol Limited Edition lighter (Elvis Presley 1964, no. xx/1964) being sold for €500. No box, no papers — just the lighter itself, described as being in good condition.
It does work (flame visible), the Elvis double portrait on the front looks correct, and the Warhol quote + signature on the back are present. The base reads “S.T. Dupont pl PARIS MADE IN FRANCE” with a serial number.
Things I’m unsure about:
• €500 without papers feels high — boxed examples go for €400–700 at auction
• No way to verify the serial number myself
• I know generic Ligne 2 fakes exist with Warhol decals
My questions:
- Does anyone have experience authenticating this specific model?
- Are there known fakes of the Elvis Warhol Dupont?
- What would you pay for this without box/papers, assuming it’s genuine?
- Photos attached. Any help appreciated 🙏
UPDATE:
The seller just sent me the following pictures wich I‘ve asked for. Do you think it‘s safe to buy? (See comments)
