Could digital identity make hotel check-ins less repetitive? Looking for honest feedback

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for feedback on a product that recently launched with a goal of simplifying hotel check-ins through a digital traveler identity and QR-based verification process.

The problem we're trying to solve is straightforward: many travelers still go through the same identity verification and registration steps every time they check into a hotel, hostel, guesthouse, or similar accommodation.

We're interested in hearing from:

  • Frequent travelers
  • Digital nomads
  • Hotel staff and managers
  • Travel-tech enthusiasts
  • Anyone who has strong opinions about the check-in experience

A few questions we're trying to validate:

  1. Have you experienced friction or delays during hotel check-ins?
  2. Would a reusable digital traveler identity be useful to you?
  3. What concerns would you have regarding privacy, security, or adoption?
  4. What would prevent you from using a system like this?
  5. If you work in hospitality, what are the biggest pain points during guest registration?

We're not looking for promotional feedback, honest criticism is actually more valuable at this stage.

If you're willing to take a look and share your thoughts, I'd genuinely appreciate it.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Would you trust a digital identity for hotel check-ins?

Hi everyone,

I've been exploring a problem that many travelers seem to accept as normal: having to repeatedly provide the same identity information every time they check into a hotel, hostel, or guesthouse.

To address this, we've launched TravDigi, a platform that allows travelers to create a digital traveler identity and use a QR code during the check-in process.

Although the platform is now live, we're actively gathering feedback from travelers, digital nomads, hospitality professionals, and anyone interested in travel technology so we can continue improving the experience.

A few questions I'd love input on:

  • Have you ever found hotel check-ins unnecessarily slow or repetitive?
  • Would you be comfortable using a verified digital identity instead of repeatedly presenting documents and filling out forms?
  • What concerns would you have about privacy, security, or adoption?
  • What would make a solution like this genuinely useful to you?

I'm especially interested in honest feedback, potential concerns, and perspectives from people who travel frequently.

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to share their thoughts and experiences.
