Helicopter Parents Calling for Adult Children

What are your worst or most hilarious helicopter parent stories? I’m talking about the ones who call on behalf of their adult children who live without the need for special assistance or guardianship.

I work in healthcare and am constantly being screamed at by moms of 20 somethings who don’t want to fill out their own forms or complete onboarding. Mommy calls and screams at support for something that cannot be changed. We cannot bypass verifying identity and HIPAA authentication because your grown ass child is upset and won’t speak to us.

A mom I spoke to recently said I was causing emotional distress by forcing her adult child to speak to me about her own refill. When the adult child got on the phone, the mom screamed at me “See! She doesn’t want to talk to you.” But we never even got started. 🫣💀

Asked to do an additional interview after the “final” round with execs.

I am unsure if this is a red flag or not. I went through 4 rounds of interviews with a startup for a manager level role. Now they want me to meet with c-suite. For context, it’s management in healthcare and includes people and ops. The team sounds like a mess that needs clear leadership. This is my specialty and what I am good at plus having a lot of AI experience they are looking for. What the hell else do these people want from me? What was supposed to be my last interview with the people ops team was super casual, and the interviewer was not respectful of my time. She was on her phone and distracted. It was supposed to be a culture fit interview. The purpose of this final interview is that the team asked for more feedback. However, I was immediately scheduled at the only time I provided because I refuse to take off more time from my current job that I love to interview again. My current role does not pay my worth, and they truly can’t match this potential salary. But I am not desperate for work at all, and I will keep scoping. But this last interview business after the “final” interview is not considerate for a manager level job. Am I crazy for thinking this is unusual?

Indian Food Recs

Where is everyone in the Farmington/Novi area getting Indian food that is made in a clean restaurant? We used to hit up Aahar all the time, but the many health department violations and disgusting conditions in their bathroom and kitchen mean we won’t be going back.
