My experience with N26: Weeks without my payout — BaFin & Ombudsman involved, still no progress

I want to share my experience with N26, because I’m convinced many customers stay silent — and that silence is exactly what allows situations like this to drag on.

Short version:
I’ve been waiting for weeks for N26 to release my own funds.
Despite multiple contacts, repeated identity checks, and complete documentation, nothing has happened.

🔍 Timeline (fully documented)

• April 14, 2026:
Filed a formal complaint with N26 (case number available)
and simultaneously submitted a complaint to BaFin.
• May 8, 2026:
Sent an additional submission to BaFin because N26 still hadn’t resolved the issue.
• As of today:
No response from BaFin.
No payout from N26.
No explanation from N26.
• The case has also been forwarded to the Ombudsman.

Everything above is documented and verifiable.

📉 N26’s communication pattern

For weeks, N26 has only responded with generic messages like
“Your case is under review”
— but nothing actually moves forward.

I’ve completed every requested verification step multiple times.
I’ve provided every document they asked for.
Still, my own money is not being released.
