customers with children

Like is it just me tha gets frustrated???? I swear some customers with children act like they’re above else. They’ll have two kids sitting in the cart, leaving barely any room for me to put their groceries, and won’t even acknowledge it. Half the time I’m scared I’ll accidentally hit their kid while trying to do my job.

Then there are the parents with babies who take forever to load their stuff onto the belt while the entire line backs up. I finally started using a separate basket instead of their cart if they’re still unloading groceries because it slows everything down, but somehow they still get attitude with me for it — even though they’re the ones holding up the line. I had one guy get so mad at me for using a different cart that he called me an asshole and threw a whole hissy fit, like I’m somehow responsible for his children. I just stared at him blankly because what even was I supposed to say to that?

What also irritates me is when people put their newborn babies in the large cart section where groceries are being loaded. I’m not comfortable with that at all because accidents can happen so easily. Another thing that drives me crazy is when people bring a stroller with no bags, no box, nothing, and expect me to load all their groceries from the stroller while holding up the entire line. I’ve started making them stay by the cart and put the groceries into the stroller themselves because it’s honestly ridiculous when they could’ve just brought a bag or box to make things easier and faster for everyone.

I don’t know, that’s just my little rant for today. It stresses me out how entitled some parents act. And don’t get me wrong — I love children. They aren’t the issue at all. It’s the parents themselves. I also want to add the parents that let there kids do whatever 🫩 one time this kid started running on the bags of soil and you can hear the mom screaming at him and gives up because he keeps running on the soil I just couldn’t believe it
