did anyone see the new updated look for the schedule on the app
it looks horrible 😭
it looks horrible 😭
If we all complain at one time…. On one date… all at one time… store level and warehouse level employees… that we can see a change or shift? I think we all know what we need. This has got to stop. IYKYK ♥️
I’m in a position where I can’t leave. My degree is worthless and nowhere else is paying Aldi salary. lol I wish I was salary.
What do you guys think? ☺️
I guess I am wondering.... if an employee transfers stores, what all can the new manager see in the employees "file". For instance, does it show your ringing/curbside statistics? Does it show performance reviews? Does it show call offs?
What does the new manager see about the transferring employee?
What info do you receive about the new transfer?
(Moving across country type transfer)
Thanks so much to anyone who can give insight
Does anyone else's store have issues with their shelf bumpers? Like the metal bar at the very bottom of the shelf.
Ours are all unaligned and loose and the corners constantly fall off. When the ones in the aisle fall off or break loose they're impossible to slot back in.
Our managers are constantly telling us it's our fault for running into them with pallet jacks which is probably a small factor but they've been loose and uneven since the remodel.
Apparently they're mega expensive to replace/fix so I think our store is just going to have ugly bent and falling over bumpers for the next several years.
I just finished and my managers didn't know I was scheduled to finish at that time.. when I was a dep I was on the ball with what times people finished, even as an assistant now I glance at the team rota to see how bad the day is going to be , but if I say about someone coming in at a certain time my colleagues will act like I devote my life to Aldi and stalk colleagues? I just look at my rota before my shift starts, I can't help having a good memory..
Just a few seeds from from customers I found while closing today 🐽
Hi! So I recently got promoted to an ASM and I’m super nervous about having the district manager come and walk while I’m MOD. What do you guys talk about during the walk?
do yall have any tips for throwing truck and/or backstock faster? my sm wants an average pallet done in 30 minutes, but i've been taking 40ish mins for pallets with like drinks or the glass stuff like banana peppers etc because i'm super scared it'll tip.
i've started just putting heavier cases on the floor while i work some other stuff and then putting it back on my pallet before i move to another aisle but idk if that's saving any time
i also might just be dumb but i don't actually know how much product/weight it takes to tip a pallet like the weight distribution for the sides across the jack forks is fucking with my head 😭😭
and tips for freeze/thaw? i struggle soooo much here. the other day it took me like 3 hours to get it done. i spend so long on dating the frozen pastry because the price gun stickers don't stick to the condensation!!!
and for finishing up freezer, i get absolutely freezing so i've decided to take my pallet out into the back, unbox each case and put it on either a cart or an empty pallet and just run them real quick when it's full, then repeat. but obviously the chicken boxes are literally impossible to open quickly so it really adds up
is it honestly realistic to be able to finish a freezer pallet in 30 minutes or am i just slow?? i'm sweaty af while i'm working so i'm trying!!
any tips would be appreciated tysm
I'm just curious what are your bagging tips? We got newbies just throwing shit wherever and making the bags stupid heavy
Half our area has had cooler malfunctions at newer buildings because its been unnaturally almost 100 degrees up north. Ours went down thursday and the produce mdu won't be back until Monday because they can't do anything when it's over 100 degrees. We got lucky with this being the only section out but the questions are endless. Anyone else have their ass kicked by the weather recently?
Recently had alot happen and ended up having a SM and DM change, with the old SM/DM we had a really good plan going and they were really focused on my development and now that I have my new SM/DM they just dont talk about it or seem interested in my development. One reason that makes me think this is there was a SMT position put on indeed but never offered to me or anything and im kinda bummed because it seems thats how most of my SMs have gotten there position from ASM, so Ig my question is am I going to have to now start over and apply for one and pave my own way and be pushy or do I wait for them to bring up a plan? Im ready for change and im just worried im gonna be stuck in this constant limbo of almost and then nothing or just never getting the opportunity, any advice is appreciated
Just wanted to say, I love how “to celebrate” national customer service week we get the “gift” of a long sleeve t-shirt!!
In the middle of summer…..
My store is located in the south……
I’m a manager so I can’t wear anything other than the polos…..
Man, what a thoughtful gift!!!!
I was with ALDI for 14 years, I was an SM for 9 years. I started as a FT associate & worked my way up the ladder. Well I am no longer with the company as a few weeks ago. I can tell y’all right now, across the US market & ESPECIALLY IN FL the company has gotten way too GREEDY. As an SM my hours got CUT like crazy & I didn’t even have SCOs! It got to a point where it was 2 openers & 2 closers. I had an overall strong team, but none of that matters when you simply don’t have the manpower to run the store & with curbside booming the majority of the day.
I truly loved the company, but expectations got to be unrealistic. & unfortunately a lot of DMs are too scared to speak up! I can go on & on but I’d be typing all night. All I’m saying is…. Get out while you can because I promise, unless unions come into the business, the company isn’t going to change. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOU!
So today, we had this MASSIVE 250+ order for curbside. It was one or two of a few things, then it turned into multiple cases and cases of stuff.
10 cans of this, 10 cans of that, 17 cans of this soup, 17 cans of this. 23 tuna, 20 chicken, etc.
Me, being an asm, lost it from the sheer ridiculousness and gall of someone ordering cases and cases of stuff through Curbside when we barely have enough staff today as is, wanted to cancel the order and tell them "for an order of this size and quantity, you need to come in the store."
My SM wanted us to just do it as is. Like it's just every other day.
We settled on doing the order this time, but expressing to whoever put this order in that this is a huge order and for sheer quantity of it they need to come in the store since it is literally pallet size worth of cans.
What would you have done? Am I justified in thinking someone ordering multiple cases worth of stuff, especially on a busy holiday weekend, is ridiculous and they should come in to get it?
Okay so I’ll have about 55 hours this week, and stepped into overtime today when we get time and a half. Am I benefiting from this and getting extra pay on top of holiday rate with overtime? I guess does holiday pay and overtime stack somehow?
Am I the only one who gets bothered by non-service animals in the store, I get that people wanna be safe and not tell someone with a service animal on accident to leave the store. (That’s what my asms and am told me as to why they don’t say anything) right now I’m on break and I hear a dog barking but no one has said anything and I don’t wanna have to leave the break room to tell that person to leave. Either way I’ve seen so many dogs come in just today and I’m the only one who’s ever told these people that they aren’t allowed non-service animals in this store. (Dogs were sniffing produce and saying hi to everyone they saw, things service animals do not do). I love animals, I don’t like them in an area specifically that doesn’t allow them. I think the worst part is that many people live in the apartments around the store and they can justleave the dog there.. but they don’t.. they never do.
Is there anything in the handbook that explicitly bans unnatural hair colors? I’d really like to try a bubblegum pink. I asked my SM about it prior to the recent referendum on light colored pants and untucked shirts and at the time he was okay with it but wanted to see if it’s been cracked down on with the newer policies.
So, tomorrow will be my fourth day in total with Aldi. Second day at my home store. So, I was off today but won't be off again till this upcoming Friday. How do I keep up? I have cashier training later in the week but Sat, Sun, Mon, Tue. I'm working just stocking and I'm already tired. Also noticed I have some closing days and then opening the following day.
I just don't want to crash and get in my head and want to quit because the job market is so bad even with me having a degree.
So, how do you keep momentum when you're working shifts consecutively and not let it mess you up physically and mentally?
