Speculative Dinosaurs community project
Hi everyone!
The recent boom in paleomedia of the 2020s is absolutely amazing, and I am very happy to see the creatures behave like actual animals, sometimes even on the big screen.
I am here to propose a bit of a group project inspired by me acquiring the newest print of Dougal Dixon's new dinosaurs, and other media like Serina, C. M. Kösemens and Simon Roy's scrapped dinosaurid project, the Future is wild, the new Age of Monotremes project, and last but not least the announcement of Mark Wittons new book called no K/P impact and the countless other internet projects that come and go nowadays.
The new dinosaurs are one of my favourite books, but viewing it with a more modern outlook on dinosaurs does not make it come off that good.
What if we took the ideas and created similar, more up-to-date creatures roaming the alternative but similar environments of the late Holocene?
Recreating new creatures and adding new ones, filling the gaps in the environments, basing them off creatures and up-to-date data on the most breathtaking animals ever to exist.
The project and its updates will probably be posted on DeviantArt and maybe here on Reddit.
You can absolutely use any media. I am using one and paper. (cus I am a broke college student in debt rn).
This will not be a full-time job (I cannot pay you). Feel free to join anytime or quit anytime.
If I get help, we could use Discord as a means of communication, but idk how that works. Helping me create there a safe space for everyone would be a lot of help too!
