GTA VI Looks Exactly Like What I Wanted 💀💀💀

I have seen some of the leaks by scrolling on Twitter and it legitimately looks like exactly what I wanted it to be: taking the elements of RDR2 and simply implementing them into a game of modern setting. The actual tone of the game is still into question as I feel like GTA V went a lil too far with being over the top and wacky (looking at you Trevor).

And i still may just wait to buy it as that no disc bit turns me away big time (and im still in my own boycott of Sony with their decision to turn away from discs despite being an owner of the digital PS5).

Rereading Eldest

I have not read this series since like middle school (2007-2009) and my goodness. I forgot how bad the 2nd hand embarrassment was with the flirting 🤣. Just read the part where Eragon said that Arya was as gorgeous as a flower and maaaaaaaaaaaaan. I had to force myself to read that bit. I know that its going to get worse with Saphira getting rejected and Eragon as well.

It's so silly but at my big age, I still cannot bear 2nd hand embarrassment in any kind of media 😅.

I Find Myself Weirdly Optimistic for the Season

I know for sure that I am setting myself up for heartbreak but there is a strange sense of hope in my heart for this season 😅. Its something that comes with a new beginnings of a regime and i should learn my lesson from the numerous rebuilds I have had to endure.

I fully expect this team to have me angry and upset before the end of October but for the time being, I am excited to see what this group does.

Replaying BG3. (A lil Critique of Larian).

I have finally gotten back into BG3 after a hiatus in early 2024. The string of updates that brought about major changes just made me put the game down until Larian was done CHANGING it (not updating but changing). And as much as I love this game, enjoy this game, and find myself in immersed in it, I find myself with a certain lack of respect for it, or at the very least, a lesser respect for.

I think this game was another lesson in how fans should have limited access to developers (or developers to fans). It feels like Larian gave into the whims and the desires of fans WAY too much. They were doing fan service in the truest sense of the term. Its one thing to take feedback and listen to it, but Larian took it to another dimension.

Not to mention the way they interacted with the fan base online. That shit just made me flat out fuckong cringe. It felt like adults trying to hang out with teenagers. Fan interaction is fine, but have some self-respect, damn it. Larian came off to eager and desperate to be seen as "cool" to me.

I just wanted to yell at them "STAND UPPPPPP". You are the developer. This is YOUR game, YOUR story, YOUR piece of art. Even with it being an RPG, you still form the stories that we can play out and the choices we can make. It just felt like a certain lack of artistic pride or a lack of spine.

Is that the way they killed Jubei was so.......... flat and predictable. I think a better serving way to kill him off (if you're going to do it at all, I have seen the argument made that it should have been Atsu to die at the end) would have been to immediately kill him after the battle with the Spider and the Dragon.

It could have been a haymakerish, molly wop of a consequence to Atsu for choosing vengeance over saving Kiku. I feel like a bit more of a heavier hand was needed to fully have Atsu be at the place she was where she cpuld let the Spider walk away after asking for his help.

It also gives more of reason to add to the ire Kiku felt. Really have her have that same burning, all consuming fire that has imprisoned Atsu for so many years. Imagine having Atsu deal with that in the midst of grieving, while trying to think of how she's going to save Oyuki.

A part of me even says that it should have been Kiku to be killed there and then. The ramifications that would have had on the relationship between Atsu and Jubei would have been something else as well.

I have seen the argument that sacrificing herself cpuld have been Oyuki's final atonement for her part in destroying the lives of Atsu and Jubei. But for Atsu herself, I do not believe that is a strong enough emotional punch (nor consequential one for letting her vengeance be more important to her than Kiku in that one instance).
