She would've made a perfect Terra

They used her in Lanterns as Maggie, but Hannah Christine Shetler would've made a perfect live action Tara Markov in a Teen Titans movie.

Project OVR is following wildlands narrative formula

Now that we know the game will feature a crime Syndicate called the 4V or 4 Valleys Clan as an enemy faction paired with prior leaks of a military faction committing war crimes in country, we basically have the Santa Blanca/ unidad dynamic again.

The game having a heavy Thai influence also adds some credibility to the older leaks about "project Gone", which was a casting call for 2 Thai speaking voice actors. One of which would be playing a female lead protagonist and the other a male lead antagonist.

New info on Ghost Recon Project OVR

After completing Operation Lazarus we're given two AARs detailing information regarding the setting, enemy faction, and location of the upcoming Project OVR.

The Last Rites dlc itself is meant to set the tone for project OVR. Dense jungle terrain, near constant dark rainy weather, enemies forming random roadblocks and traversing in armored tanks, camps laced with boobietraps, zero air transport, encouraging land navigation and in some cases avoiding roadways.

The cultists are connected to a crime Syndicate known as the 4 valley clans or 4V for short. They are an enemy faction that will more than likely play a role similar to Santa Blanca but this time in a location called Nagan.

Nagan is a location based in SE Asia, corroborating prior leaks. We can infer this due to the very specific use of the Dragon theme and statue which turn out to be direct replications of deities tied to locations like Thailand and Laos.

CIA case officer Emily Price references an operation "Rain Maker" and Nomad receives a memo informarming him of what is assumed to be a redeployment of his team to SE Asia.

This is my interpretation of the "Redacted Content" messages.

"Your removal of Cortes has led to an increase in these comms, originating from [South East Asia]

As the closest active AFO team, we've decided to [Deploy your team to Nagan], however [Congress] is blocking investigations into the 4V, citing [violation of sovereignty].

CIA handler Price has requested that [Rules of Engagement] be followed to the letter in this matter. - JSOC"

Ghost Recon is not and never was a military simulator.

There's a common misconception that's becoming more common that seems to indicate that ghost recon has simulator roots. It doesn't.

Ghost Recon 1, is a 2001 first person tactical shooter that focuses on squad control and management, and basic point-shoot mechanics that featured no weapon models, no bullet drop, no drivable vehicles and no logistical structure.

At it's core it's a tactical shooter/ strategy game that prioritizes squad management, and does not meet the definition of "MILSIM"

Operation Flashpoint: Cold war crisis (Godfather of ARMA) a game that also launched in 2001, 5 months before Ghost Recon is however a definitive Military Simulator. It trumped Ghost Recon in every capacity. Fully rendered weapon models, player controlled air and land vehicles, 1st person and 3rd person pov, larger AI team to control and command. It's what went on to become the greatest milsim to date, ARMA.

I am disgusted and tired of the milsim fans trying to claim Ghost Recon should be a milsim, and constantly comparing it to Arma.

Ghost Recon should be a hardcore tactical shooter with elements of realism and immersion that can be tailored to player preferences with squad management as its core identity, but at a casual level. Yes, a game can be casual and still hardcore without touching milsim territory.

For all the arma fans out there, we applaud you're level of patience and meticulousness in larping, but if Ghost Recon is too casual of a franchise for you, please stop trying to big dick the Ghost Recon community thinking that you're better than them because they're a bit more on the casual side.

Ghost Recon new mission Last Rites will feature La Llorona "The Weeping Woman"

La Llorona (The Weeping woman) is a vengeful Ghost in Latin American folklore, often depicted as the spirit of a woman who drowned her children in a river and is cursed to eternally search for them at night as she weeps.

Its generally viewed as a sort of omen to teach children not to play near bodies of water and as the myth goes, if you're ever in the jungle near water after dark and you hear a woman weeping... time to run.

This tells me a few things about the new mission "Last Rites". It will take place in a province that has alot of water and jungle terrain (caimanes) and the target will be a female.

The leaks of Project OVR taking place in an SE Asian country may be foreshadowed in this mission as the jungle terrain and abundance of swamps and marshes would similary match the supposed terrain the "Naiman war" in project ovr takes place in.

"No drone crap in the next Ghost Recon" lol.

This show gets alot of flack cause it's got alotta girl power. I personally love it even more so than the Seal team show. Taylor Sheridan writes alot like Tom Clancy when It comes to modern warfare.

Use of canine operator in Ghost Recon

I've always wanted atleast one canine operator in a ghost recon game along with up to 7 other operators on a roster to select from for missions. This clip from Lioness S3 Ep1 is a perfect example of how cool it would be.

A decent squad command system

This is the squad command radial from a 2011 ps3, 360 military tactical shooter called Operation Flashpoint: Red River.

It was way ahead of its time and showed that even without the abundance of buttons of a keyboard, console players can still have in depth squad command options.

The commands would also shift based on what the player was pointing at. If the player pointed at a building and pushed up on "Manoeuver" a sub-command to "clear building" would pop up and the tea AI would flood the room and do basic sweep and Clear. The option to give individual commands were also present.

So now 15 years later I'd expect nothing less from a Ghost Recon game.

How many AI squad mates should we have in project OVR and how should they function?

A 6 man team is my ideal Ghost Recon Squad. Each, a different class, with their own unique skillset, perks, equipment, and personality. (Yes I want a team of characters, not generic replaceable drones)

Ghost Lead, Pointman, Demolition, Recon, Comms, and Medic.

Ghost Lead: The commander role. Call's in close air support, access to UAV/ISR, uses tacmap to coordinate assets (including allied forces).

Pointman: Main assaulter role. Basically your go to rifleman with high weapon handling on all assault type weapons including machine guns.

Demolitions: The demo guy. Breacher and explosives expert. Proficiency in the use of Rocket launchers.

Recon: The Sniper. Uses personal drone for reconnaissance. Expert in long range shooting and marking targets.

Intel: Tech and communications expert. Highly proficient in hacking and has access to specialized air strikes once Ghost Lead is active. Proficiency in marksmanship

Medic. The Doc. Teams personal mircale worker with access to additional medkits and faster healing for teammates. Proficiency in use of grenade launchers.

Each class has their own unique perks and buffs in specific areas but are all capable of overlapping roles and weapons are not restricted to class.

For example; intel class can double as a support sniper, Pointman can double as a machine gunner, medic can double as a grenadier.

Squad can be split in up to 3 teams with minimum of 2 members per team.

New Ghost Recon reveal for 25th anniversary in November

According to reliable leaks, Ubisoft is adamant about Ghost Recon Project OVR entering beta by November. Could it be due to the fact that November 11th will mark the franchise's 25th anniversary?

Admittedly, it tracks, and could explain the "unrealistic deadlines" the devs are worried about.

Ghost Recon Project OVR reduced in scope to meet new deadlines.

Ghost Recon Project OVR Scope Cut To Meet New Deadlines

https://insider-gaming.com/app/post/ghost-recon-project-ovr-scope-cut-to-meet-new-deadlines

Not looking good for Project OVR if they have to cut back on features in the game. Its a damn shame because this game has been in development for atleast 4 years.

What's worse is that it sounds like breakpoint all over again when they're trying to rush a Project out the door that's half baked and will certainly be a buggy mess.

This game definitely shouldn't release before 2028.

Ghosts are not Green Berets.

They use to be. Now their a tier one unit more similar to CAG "specifically G Squadron" but go by the name GST "Group for Special Tactics"

For everyone thinking that training rebels is only done by Green Berets, tier 1 assets have and do take part in training local forces but on a much more clandestine level.

Where the Green Berets train rebels as their core mission set, a unit like CAG "in this case GST" would do so as an alternative option that they can exploit if it was beneficial but is not their mission.

In wildlands, Ghosts were not there to train and work with rebel forces. That wasn't their mission. The CIA handler herself even states "its their choice if they want to take part in rebel training missions" But they did so due to the beneficial factor.

Ghosts are not Green Berets post 2014. They are a tier 1 army SOF unit made up of members from all different branches, that have the ability to do anything, including Unconventional Warfare, the Green Beret core mission.

What is Ghost Recon, and what's best for this IP going forward.

This Franchise has been pulled in so many different directions over the passed 2 decades, it's impossible to definitively say exactly what Ghost Recon is as an IP.

For some, GR is a 3rd person stealth shooter, some view it as an open world role-playing simulator, some view it as a milsim, some, all of the above.

"All of the above" is objectively the most unbiased answer one can give when asked "what is Ghost Recon?" And honestly, I'm tired of folks pretending it's either one or the other.

What's best for this IP, and the key to making the best possible game, is by incorporating everything that GR has ever been, and putting it together in one, Glorious package, for all to enjoy.

OPTIONS! Player options is the most important aspect of building THE BEST GR game. From player pov, to map design and layout, to customization... giving players the options to play how they want, is the only way to truly save this franchise.

It can be open world and still be structured for linear playstyles. It can be modern day and still have near futuristic elements. It can have hardcore milsim elements and still be fine tuned for a more casual audience. It can be First person and 3rd person.

Their is literally no reason this game has to be just one thing or the other, it never has been just one thing.

For me personally, the next GR game should just be called "Ghost Recon" and be an FPS/3rd person Hard-core, modern tactical stealth combat role-playing simulator, with state of the art tier one military technology, that takes place in an open world divided into a linear progression structure in a living breathing sandbox with multiple factions of friends and foes alike.

Ubisoft, get it right.

Ghost Recon Extraction

For my PVPVE Ghosts out there, what do you guys think about an Eacape from Tarkov style GR extraction mode where instead of BEAR and USEC, you have Bodark and Wolves.

Thoughts on the new 3rd person "tactical" shooter

I think it looks okay from the little that was shown... still need to see actual gameplay obviously. HATE the supernatural elements. Know the 3rd person shooter crowd will love it regardless.
