The whole point of a sequel is to be better than the game that came before it and that’s exactly what 2 did. Better graphics, better combat, more weapons, way more suits, way better traversal, and better quality of life features. It’s a no brainer that 2 is the best in the series despite the trolls here on Reddit and the grifters on YouTube say. Newer is always better, it’s common sense.

Ubisoft Investor Call

Ubisoft still have not recruited for a head for creative house 2 (Ghost Recon falls under this one).

Yves said Assasins Creed Black Flag is set to be released for 2027 fiscal year but did not mention anything pertaining to Project Over.

Ubisoft mentioned their new team ai developments.

At this point, my anticipation is now low. I'm sure 2027 might be the release year for this game.

If there is no announcement in November/December for a 2027 release, I'm just not going to care anymore.

Arma 4 is releasing next year and it will be a better experience.

What do you think of the first person mod?

For me, it has made the game a lot better and more realistic, even if it's a small way to go until then. The game will be a lot harder if you don't want it to be harder, you shouldn't install the mod, but if you're more into realism, it's a must have.

Anyone else plays breakpoint with AI teammates off because weaver holt and Midas are irreplaceable?

So I’ve recently beat the fallen ghosts DLC in wildlands and saw how breakpoint is also on PS plus so despite the bad reviews I’ve heard I gave it a try.

Those were the worst first game hours I’ve ever had, suddenly Walker from that side mission in wildlands comes back and KILLS WEAVER, and then in this cave HOLT CAN BARELY STAND and from a veteran friend apparently MIDAS HAS A WORSE FAITH THAN DEATH??.
And then the game just says “oh you can make your own new AI teammates” fuck em, it isn’t the same, the squad interactions in wildlands were amazing, half the reason why I loved the squad so much. Currently trying to unlock the mission for Midas and trying to beat the game with no AI teammates, anyone else does that or just me?

Wildlands or Breakpoint?

I want to play a tactical shooter, with explorable map and great weapon customization. I played the Wildlands open beta on PS4, I liked the gameplay, but I’m planning to play on PC.

Both of these games are on sale, about 10 EUR for the standard and 20 EUR for the Ultimate edition.

What would you recommend Wildlands or Breakpoint, and standard or ultimate edition?

Edit: thank you guys for your suggestions!
I will get Wildlands first then Breakpoint, both with DLCs.

Permadeath, Story & Gameplay Can All Work Together In Ghost Recon

I honestly think the next or future GR could make permadeath, narrative and open world gameplay all work together if Ubisoft actually puts the effort in.

For me, the squad should be the main character, not just one person. The ovrall story can stay the same. Same missions, same war, same targets. What changes is your squads story throughout the campaign depending on the losses your squad takes.

That’s why I think permadeath should be optional and tied to a specific mode like Ghost Mode in WL. Keep the normal experience for casual players but give tactical players the option for a harsher campaign with real consequences.

And before people say everyone would instantly die, these are Ghosts for a reason and obviously the squad AI would need a massive overhaul. Teammates would need real self preservation, better positioning, smarter reactions to vehicles/explosives and actual tactical behaviour. You should still be able to revive teammates, but if things go really wrong and you cant get to them in time, that loss carries through the campaign.

The gameplay consequences alone could make every playthrough feel unique. Lose your sniper? You now approach future ops differently. Lose your medic? Mistakes suddenly matter way more. Lose your breacher? Certain compounds or entry points become harder to deal with.

Back at HQ the fallen Ghosts dogtags and patches are now hanging on a memorial wall. The next helicopter ride feels different because his seat is empty. Radio chatter changes too. Maybe one Ghost becomes quieter after losing a friend, maybe anothers dialogue becomes more aggressive during a mission.

Cutscenes could adapt as well. If everyone survives, maybe the squad is joking around back at base after the mission. Lose someone and now it’s just a silent ride home. Ghost Lead sitting alone cleaning his rifle, looking at photos or replaying an old voice message from the teammate who didn’t make it back.

Then imagine the ending reflecting your whole playthrough. The Ghosts who make it home carrying transfer cases draped in US flags off the plane.

That sounds way more immersive to me than just replacing each lost teammates as you progress with no consequences.

Thoughts?

Ghost Recon Caucasus proposal

For nearly the last 30 years since the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the Caucasus mountains bridging Europe and Asia have been plagued by ethnic and geopolitical conflict

my idea is simple: this region poses an ideal setting for a gritty addition to the ghost recon franchise (breakaway regions, and rebels in this region)

A fictionalized retelling of the various conflicts in the region can serve as a main campaign and even other conflicts as a conquest mode

The Russian invasion of Georgia, the Nagorno-Karabakh border conflict, border issues regarding
the various breakaway regions, such as North Ossetian and Abkhazia can prove to be an incredibly diverse and well-thought-out setting and scenario for a ghost recon game

Not to mention, this region is extremely extremely beautiful with friendly people, diverse cultures, and various landscapes

I could see this being a more of a gritty, ghost recon game, with vehicles replicated in excruciating detail, various enemy, factions, and combatants, and a local populist that’s reminiscent of ghost recon wildlands

The main campaign could follow some of the locals uprisings, terror issues, and border conflicts, George, Azerbaijan, and Armenia have plenty of interesting content to work with plus Russia and Iran could play an important role in this game

The blend of Caucasian villages, bleak Soviet cities, oriental eastern influenced cultures, clashing with eastern orthodox western cultures, not to mention the towering mountains, sweeping valleys and large plateaus of this region would serve an incredible visual representation

Just picture a team of ghosts, navigating across the mountain of terrain to attack a rebel controlled border outpost, trying to escape a Russian or Turkish aerial surveillance drone while entering a hostile valley, winning over the trust of the population as you slowly bring stabilization to their homeland, zooming through a valley on a commandeered Mi-24 attack helicopter, raining fire upon a convoy of aging T 72 tanks as the local populous cheers on

They could even have a conquest mode that replicates Russian intervention like in 2008 in Georgia.

So I heard a lot of this sub

"wildlands for story and atmosphere, breakpoint for gameplay mechanics" and frankly I don't get why people say that.

I'm finally getting around the playing breakpoint and honestly it's just "wildlands in different setting" and that's it. Like the gameplay doesn't feel more polished, mechanics don't seem to have changed. Am I missing something here or is breakpoint just reskinned wildlands?

Modding question

To all the modders two questions. #1 How difficult is modding and how long does it usually take and #2 is it every mod you have to hassle with to work or is it just the first time you do it
