I'm So Glad This Game is Getting Some Love Again

Been playing Ghost Recon since GRAW, and while I miss the future soldier theme, this game really hit the nail on the head. It's what I always wanted in a game, and there hasn't been anything like it since. I still can't believe we got new content in 2026.

Have you been tearing it up in Bolivia since the new update, and what do you think of the DLC?

Questions Regarding My Use Case - Apple vs Google Services w/ GrapheneOS

Before starting, I want to clarify that I have prior experience with GrapheneOS, and this is NOT one of those general "is Apple or Graphene more private?" posts. I'm seeking experienced Graphene end-users who can review my intended use case, and provide some reasonably unbiased advice and answers.

I'll try and keep it as brief as I can, but there's a lot to discuss.

Pixel w/ GrapheneOS was my primary phone for several years and I loved it. However, there was a couple issues. At the time, seeking maximum privacy and anonymity, I avoided any Google log-ins, and primarily installed apps via APK and Aurora store. This eventually became unreliable, and keeping everything updated and working was a nightmare. I have come to realize that Google Play is the recommended method of installing apps for GrapheneOS.

I switched to iPhone early last year for the sake of convenience. I was impressed with Apple's recent privacy improvements and considered iOS suitable for my threat model. After all, I think many of people in the privacy world can agree that Apple is at least slightly more trustworthy with your data than Google.

I've had a good experience with my iPhone. However, for a number of personal reasons, I am seriously considering switching back to GrapheneOS. The caveat is, if I make that change, I would want to use the Google Play Store and some Google services. It would be a necessary sacrifice of some privacy for the sake of convenience, and using Google Play is necessary for security.

I primarily rely on the Proton, Ente, and Garmin suites. I do not use the Apple ecosystem, outside of Maps. I use Apple Maps because it has most of the functionality of Google Maps, but in addition, personal data like saved locations are E2EE, and active navigation data is anonymized. Obviously, if I switch to Graphene then I lose Apple Maps. I've tried OSM, Magic Earth, etc. many times over the years. They are good apps, but they do not suit me. If I switch to GrapheneOS, I will need to switch to Google Maps.

TL;DR - I switched to iPhone for convenience and want to go back. I would create a Google Account to use Google Play, likely Google Maps, and maybe YouTube. These are my questions...

- What exactly are the privacy implications of using Google Play Store and Google services with GrapheneOS, and does GrapheneOS mitigate them enough to be more inherently private and secure than my current device?

- Creating a Google account, in my opinion, creates a conflict. If I create a Google account to use in conjunction with GrapheneOS, would it be best to focus on privacy and create an account with a pseudonym and false personal info, or should for the sake of security should I create a legit personal Google account? I previously had an active Google account deleted, and I assume it's because I used false info with no backup options.

- I am not very familiar with the current state of Graphene. I do know that Graphene is getting dedicated Motorola devices, and I'm glad to hear it. However, these will not be out for quite some time, and I'm looking to change phones relatively soon. Is there a valid reason to wait for the new phones, or should I switch to a Pixel now?

New Instance Keeps Crashing [Logs Provided]

New 26.2 instance, enabled Fabric mod loader, installed Sodium and Iris, then installed Complimentary Reimagined, all via the Prism Launcher. No external downloads used.

Upon launch, the UI is at maximum size. Clicking video settings immediately crashes the game.

Please let me know if any additional info is needed, this is my first time using any mods in Prism so I am lacking experience.

Holy. Shit.

I'm at a complete loss for words. This is likely the greatest game I've ever played.

I bought this on release and never played it, right now I just hate that I waited this long.

BCT Care Package Questions

Hello all, my gaming buddy of 5+ years enlisted and is currently in BCT. We're all very proud of him and want to ship him some things. I understand this is likely a frequently asked question, but I've been getting conflicting information and I know things have likely changed a lot in the past couple years.

Currently, we have sugar-free cough drops, baby wipes, and unscented chapstick. What else would you consider to be a must-have?

Advice for a STALKER Veteran About to Try a GAMMA Playthrough

I have been playing STALKER for many years, and have several hundred hours in Anomaly as well. I've recently played a couple hours of GAMMA, and while it's very difficult, I'm really enjoying the mechanical depth. So, I have a few questions.

I have never finished the main Anomaly storyline, and was wondering if you all recommend it. I've heard mixed feedback, but if I get lots of people saying it's worth it, I'll go Loner or Clear Sky and give it a shot. If not, I have another idea.

I've tried most of the factions, but I normally play as a Mercenary, as I enjoy the contract killing quests, and honestly, the money-hungry contractor thing is really fun. With games like these, I really like getting immersed into my faction and roleplaying it seriously. Even though I enjoy the gameplay loop of Mercs, I wanna try a different group with a more cohesive goal. In short, I just wanna do a playthrough where I pledge blind loyalty to a faction and fight to advance their cause. I don't particularly care for Duty or Freedom, so if I don't do the questline, I'm considering Monolith. I like the added challenge, and I think LARPing as a brainwashed crusader would be entertaining. If not them, maybe UNISG or Sin, as they're kinda similar to Mercs and Monolith respectively.

Let me know what faction you've enjoyed playing and why, and maybe I'll give it a shot.

What Games Have You Tried With Game Pass and Fell in Love With?

Discuss a game you saw on Game Pass and knew nothing about, but decided to give it a shot in the dark and found it to be a great game.

My answer is Medal of Honor: Airborne. I played Xbox in the 2000s so I was aware of the MoH franchise but never played them, gave this one a shot and it's so addicting.

Looking forward to trying your suggestions!

Questions Regarding IEMs for Gaming vs. Traditional Gaming Headphones

Hello, for context I primarily play competitive shooters on PC. I enjoy the overall audio quality of my current gaming headphones, however I struggle hearing the exact location of sounds such as footsteps and enemy noise, which is very important in several games I play, especially Escape from Tarkov. I am getting conflicting info while searching online whether IEMs would be better for precise imaging.

I'm more than willing to sacrifice some overall soundstage in order to better pinpoint the exact directions of noises I hear in game. I also prefer the comfort of IEMs over headphones, and the noise cancelling aspects of IEMs are another appeal. With my specific use case, should I consider IEMs, or do I just need better headphones? These are a flagship pair from a reputable brand, so I don't know if dumping money into more expensive headphones would be worth it over some similarly priced IEMs. I've done my research and highlighted a few brands so this is more of a general IEM question, but if you game with IEMs feel free to throw out some model suggestions.

[Discussion] What should I bring for my first prestige before unlocking Bitcoin?

I've just reached level 30 and want to prestige. Everyone says to bring Bitcoin but I cannot buy the required barter items until level 35, and honestly I don't want to continue the leveling grind. My understanding is cash is non-transferrable, so is there anything else I can buy and transfer that will decently retain value when sold to traders?
