I was given 3 black skirt tetras last night by a family friend who knew I kept fish. Her son wasn’t taking care of them and she wanted them to get healthy and happy again. They are currently secluded in my hospital tank while I rehab them, but I’ve never owned black skirt tetras before so I’m not sure where to start with tank setup.

I have a couple different sizes of vacant tanks already that I would need to build, but I’ve got 4 already fully functioning and pretty self sustaining freshwater tanks that I can use to help quickly cycle a new tank. As far as plants and possible tank mates I’m not sure where to begin and I’d love some advice!
