Ultimately I ended up requesting a refund to StubHub credit, which was to come with a bonus credit of an additional $271.04. The credit which was to show up "instantly" did not show up so support opened a case for me to escalate and said it would take 3-5 days to hear back.
Well here we are 5 days later and I hadn't heard back so I reached out to support again. The support person without any confirmation from my end decided to just refund the order to my original method of purchase, which eliminated the $271.04 bonus. I told them this was not what I requested nor what I wanted and they told me "requesting credit was not possible as that was a system error, which is why you never received a code, this issue was escalated internally across multiple orders, and the only available options are either replacement tickets or a full refund." So a) they eliminated the option that they initially offered and which the first support person assured me was an option (I have a transcript of the chat), and b) without asking which of these two options I wanted they just went ahead and refunded my order. The issue is that there are no tickets in the building available at or below my original order price. Had they told me I could either get a refund or alternate tickets I would have taken the alternate tickets, but they didn't even give me that option - they just decided for me to cancel the order and refund my money. So now I am left with no tickets and not enough money to buy replacement tickets.
EDIT: StubHub phone support is now trying to gaslight me into accepting that it was actually I who requested the refund to my original payment method, not the StubHub agent acting on my behalf. This is ridiculous, I never would have accepted that, I would have taken replacement tickets.
tl;dr StubHub seller "couldn't provide my tickets" and StubHub offered non-comparable seats, even though they could have offered actually comparable seats for negligibly more than what they were offering. I accepted a refund with StubHub credit that would appear "instantly" but 30 minutes later I still have no credit.
I bought ticket to a concert as a gift for my wife. I got an email today saying "The seller can’t deliver your original tickets..." and offering me a replacement. The problem is the only two options for replacement are far worse than my original seats - I was lower bowl and they're only offering me upper bowl. The real kicker is that there are tons of tickets available for this show - event some in the same exact section as my cancelled tickets - but they're more expensive than what I paid and StubHub doesn't want to eat the cost. Not my fucking problem StubHub, that's your problem. I'm sure they're hoping I'll take a refund and eat the cost on more expensive comparable tickets - it's the kind of bullshit business practices I would expect from StubHub.
Has anyone had any luck working with support to get actual actually comparable replacement tickets?
EDIT: It's getting more frustrating... The seats they're offering me are listed for $999 and $990. There are seats currently listed in my original section for $1090. So for just $100 more they could give me actual comparable seats. But the support agent says the replacements offered are the replacements offered and there is nothing they can do.
EDIT2: I decided to take the refund which came with an additional $270 StubHub credit and just shop for replacement tickets. But the "instant" StubHub credit has not shown up in my account and I'm able to re-request a refund or new tickets as if it was never processed. Absolute clusterfuck this website is.
EDIT3: They've "escalated" my case to get me my credit. I find it interesting that once I decided on a refund it was so easy to escalate, but in trying to get actual, comparable replacement seats escalation was not an option...
