The Gorgon (home-brew myth)
Venom a'crowning face a'gare
A stony hate, a fateful stare.
- A young man serenades a statue in a clearing, mourning that his lover didn't meet him here as she promised.
- A river whose waters are completely still. The whiskered hares around it do not run. A stone tortoise lies in the riverbed, with the ability to still forces of nature.
- A statue of a behemoth surrounded by herbalists huts. The locals claim it wasn't here before, and must be a curse from the hag who passed through, soliciting her hand in marriage and inquiring after seers. Each hut has a treasured mirror heirloom (see table).
- Heavy rain pelts everything exposed, turning 7 nearby stones into stone-jaw snakes, usually geovores, now with a taste for flesh.
- The Gorgon emerges from bathing in a stagnant pool, demanding first that the knights marry her, and if refused, to tell her of the seers who knighted them, complaining even they refuse to look on her. She becomes furious if refused entirely.
- Stumble on a wedding between the gorgon and a seer of the realm, whose sight is now restricted to the gorgon alone. Everyone attending is jumpy and fears angering the bride.
