Dead PSU... Confirm my Suspicions?
Ok, context:
Have been troubleshooting why BF6 keeps crashing to desktop and have been working through BIOS and driver updates, but to no avail.
Next on the troubleshooting list was RAM timings; apparently BF6 doesn't play nicely with XMP/XMP on 4 sticks.
So I turned off XMP and then couldnt POST, with the DRAM error light on my mobo (Gigabyte z490 gaming x ax) illuminated.
Managed to get back into BIOS after a couple of power cycles and disable XMP.
Next boot goes to black screen and then computer dies and no power to USB peripherals. The lights on the ethernet port are illuminated though (are they powered by the cable?)but everything else seems dead.
Wall outlet confirmed working so... does the hive mind think this is:
- dead psu?
- shorted mobo?
