One of my fav yukata

Despite being one of my fave yukata. This series is honestly a pain in the oshiri. I got it during a 1g 1yen and 1g 20yen promo 3 years back. This is actually a defunct brand and I finally understood why when I got quite a collection of it. All of them bled seriously. Especially all the different reds... Blues....purples, oranges. Their designs are really awesome though. I was almost tempted to buy the same design in different colours. The only way for them to stop colour transfers is to get a specific liquid. Can't remember what it was as the hubs got it for me.

Actually.... This yukata still has red dye transfers on the white lines.

I wore this coord for my lesson a few weeks back.

Washable Synthetic kimono

It's been a while since I found cute affordable washable 2nd hand kimonos. While synthetic fabric kimonos are not rare. It's pretty rare to find cheap ones with cuteish designs. Of course they have to fit my size. Sadly, I won't be able to wear these until probably much later in the year.

Bad kimono day

There are days where you just wanna throw in the towel and call it a day for various reasons. This day, I was actually feeling really drained. I thoroughly enjoyed my day out with a good friend however, my body was kinda failing me. I dressed my friend in a kimono that day and then myself. Honestly, I gave up on being neat and also made the last minute decision to change into hanhaba obi instead as it was getting late.

I would still like to redeem myself with this summer kimono.

Plus size convertible yukata

I chanced upon this site from one of the IG adverts.

It doesn't deliver overseas but if you have an intermediary courier maybe it's something you can consider.

Convertible yukata like these have been popping up alot these 2 years. Which allows you to use your yukata as a dress too. And all the easy pop on yukata items. The thing is.... plus size is quite a challenge to get. This online store apparently specializes in plus size ladies clothes. If you are lucky.... You could find some on Shimamura website too.

Kimono hike 2

The day the weather couldn't make up its mind. It was sunny one moment and rainy on the other. On the bright side, my hubs got a life size アジの開きsoft toy while I managed to win a large 2nd prize version !!

Thank God however it was only just drizzling a little when we were at Mt Omuro. It was a last minute decision as the chair lift was to stop any operations based on wind conditions.

This mix of weather however gave us this SILENT HILL atmosphere which was kinda cool. The skies literally opened up for just as a moment for us to capture the middle of the mountain. I almost regretted walking along the rim of the mountain due to the up and down slopes, about a km. Looks easy until you are out of shape and in a restrictive kimono🤣🤣🤣. I was hesitant to take the chair lift at first for fear of losing my zori as I didn't have any strings with me. My MOM... being the one with random stuff in her bag saved my day!!!!!! She had rafia strings!!!!!!

Hiking in Kimono

Had a short trip with the fam during golden week. I never expected to climb so many hills and mountains during this trip. However, I still managed to keep my kimono intact. This is also my very first EVA zouri. Was testing it out during the trip. It does feel bouncy and nice. Did I feel like an idiot when I realised the actual situation I was in, yes. Did I feel accomplished in the end? Somewhat. You do need the right zouri to do the job though. People were right, EVA zouri does feel a little like sneakers. I'm also glad I didn't dirty the pure white zouri. That's another dumb thing to do. To be fair, most of the hills and mountains we climbed had proper pavements but there were some raw parts.

Quick quide Ladies and men's kimono

Sorry, posting this for the 2nd time as I just realised the men's image isn't uploaded.

Something random popped up in my feed. I found this simple and visually easy to understand. Unfortunately it's in Chinese but it can be easily translated.

Awase Ro kimono?

I wore this to school.

Most likely an odori kimono or some sort. It's actually very nice to the touch. It's Ro like but heavy and awase. Doesn't look like the typical Ro I have seen. I like it's weight and textured crepe-piness🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.....

Testing out my obidome which I made for the first time🤪

My fav tsukesage till date

This is probably my fave tsukesage till date. Getting my final wear before storage. It's simple... Classy and really easy to put on. Maybe it's because it's almost my size. Then again, it could be the material too. I got it at a steal. There is an artist signature on it. I tried looking for more information but there isn't much. Seems like a lesser known artist. With that said, I did manage to find some of this artist's kimono online but at a higher price. Not a huge collection though and seems to mostly be 2nd hand.

Loving plain obi

Recently, I have a thing for plain looking obi. However it needs to have that something something 🤪 the photo can't really capture the beauty of this obi but it looks great in person. With some gold underneath those silver mesh Obidome is a brooch.

I think I have worn this kimono quite a few times in the past few months. However.... It's an awase, which means I have washed and kept it. It's too hot to wear this now. One of my fave. Not going to lie. Hoping the shop has a random 50% off so I could get another cat kimono🤪

Okay... To be honest. It looks wonky. The thing is since I'm already in summer kimono. It also means everything is light. It gets the job done though. Feels sturdy enough but I do wonder if something as heavy as a furisode could be held up nicely. In a way I do think it could. Overall, do I recommend this? Yes.... Especially if you want something portable. It doesn't feel too flimsy but I hope it will hold up well for long term usage.

PS: sorry for only the nagajyuban and obi example. I have already kept my kimono and was on the way out🤪

It's my first time wearing a hakama on my own and it's also my first hakama. I almost freaked out when the strings were too short for me. I almost couldn't tie it at the back. It was raining the entire time too....🫩🫩🫩

I wish the hanhaba obi could be seen more clearly here. It's metallic 🌈🤣🤣🤣. I swear the Hakama felt longer when I was walking but it looked much shorter in photos. Which is a little annoying.

The Hakama exhibition was quite an eye opener for me though it was a humble exhibition.
