We would have 2.5 days (2 nights and 3 days). Is it worth it to visit San Juan? I would love to visit, but not sure if it's enough time... Or is it better to tour Whidbey?

I will be travelling to Seattle in two weeks. Safety is the most important factor for me. Which hotel do you recommend?

I'm planning a trip and came up with this itinerary. Please take a look and advise.

• Fly into Seattle and drive north, spending the first night near Anacortes.
• Whale watching in the morning.
• Drive the North Cascades Highway that afternoon, stopping at Thunder Knob Trail, Diablo Lake Overlook, and Washington Pass before spending the night in Winthrop.
• Full day exploring the North Cascades, including hiking Maple Pass Loop.
• Drive to Leavenworth for one night.
• Spend some time in Leavenworth and drive to Seattle the next day.
• Take a guided Mount Rainier day tour.
• Fly home the following day.

Any suggestions or recommendations will be appreciated!
