Carhartt miniature chore jacket/salesman sample?
Hi, Everyone!
I’m looking for some help from the community historians.
This is a miniature denim chore jacket. It has three brass "Carhartt's O’alls & Gloves" train-car heart buttons, which I believe is from the 1910s–1930s era. I first thought this was a child’s jacket, but the dimensions strongly point to it being a salesman sample.
The proportions are incredibly boxy and heavily cropped:
Pit to pit: 14.5”
Shoulder to shoulder seam: 13”
Bottom collar to hem: 8”
Sleeve: 6.5”
I’ve attached clear photos of the front, the buttons, and the construction. I would love to get your thoughts on the authenticity, construction style, and any potential history of this piece.
Note: I am strictly looking for information, authentication help, and historical context right now. Please do not send offers to my DMs.
Thanks in advance for any insights!
