Marathon during 1L

Hi all, incoming 1L here. I got into running this year and want to run my first marathon soon! Unfortunately the marathon I'm looking at is at the end of October, right in the middle of my first semester.

This might be a silly question, but I keep hearing how brutal and time consuming 1L is, is this a bad idea? I expect to be basically completely out of commission that weekend, but also want to keep up with training (3-4hours per week). Anyone have experience/advice with maintaining their exercise routine throughout law school? Should I just expect to abandon all my hobbies once school starts?

365 Church Street Condos?

Hi all,

Haven't seen a post about this place in a few years so wanted to ask - anyone have any thoughts on this building/area? I am new to Toronto so unsure about the neighborhood as a whole. I would be renting the bedroom in a 1bed + 1den with one other person.

Appreciate the input - thank you!

Off campus housing advice, 30 minute walking commute?

TLDR: 30 min walk to campus (and in winter!) from a place I really like or turn it down and hold out for something closer?

Hi everyone, I'm terribly indecisive and would appreciate some advice on my housing hunt!

I'm an incoming grad student, new to Toronto, and I found a place in a condo that I really like, at a price within my budget, shared with one person which I don't mind. However it's a 30 min walk to my building (27 on google maps, technically) and TTC is essentially the same amount of time. I have no problem with a 30 min walk, but in Toronto winter I'm not so sure.

I could potentially pass on this and keep looking, but I'm nervous about not finding anything as nice. I worry that other places close to campus would be either more expensive, shared with 2+ people, or just in a not as nice building. But I haven't seen too many other listings pop up so I'm really not sure, I'm unfamiliar with Toronto housing.

Has anyone had this the walking commute and thinks it's doable? Is the housing market generous enough that I can afford to turn this place down?
