Resorts for relaxation and quiet?

We are a 55+ couple who love traveling to Aruba for the quiet, low-rise adult resorts, quiet and relaxing resort front beaches, and high-quality dining. We are spoiled by the hassle-free beach front loungers and free full breakfast of Bucuti and Tara and are looking for another similar destination. We heard the Grand Cayman has a similar vibe. Any suggestions on where to stay, when to visit, where to eat, etc? We would like to be on the beach and not have to pay or hassle for lounge chairs.

Suggestions on first cruise for 35th anniversary (late 50’s).

My husband and I are huge foodies and usually go to a beautiful resort in Aruba for milestone anniversaries. In 2028 we will be in our late 50’s celebrating our anniversary. We are considering a cruise leaving Florida and possibly ending in San Diego but not sure which itinerary would be best for our first cruise.

We’re not big drinkers (maybe a glass or two of wine or a martini with dinner) and we like to dress up for dinner. We’re enjoy walking, working out, quiet lounging, and sightseeing. What cruise lines are recommended? What should we expect to pay per person for a mostly adult cruise with excellent restaurants and interesting ports for up to 2 weeks?

Also, any excursions we must do? Are inside rooms just as good? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Edit: While we love good food, our tastes are not that refined. 😊 We don’t live in an area where things like lobster and sea bass are regularly on the menu. My husband does not eat raw or medium rare food, so sushi, anything tartare, etc., is off the list.

Cardiac calcium score of 14. Doc wants to put me on statins.

Hi all, I just had a cardiac calcium scan score of 14. I’m 50+ female at 129 lbs with cholesterol 177, triglycerides 95, Hdl 83, ldl 80. I recently started a health journey and cut out most carbs, sugar, processed foods, diet sodas, etc. There’s no family history of heart issues at all. My doctor wants to put me on a statin. Should I ask him if I could try out my diet for a year and retest first, or would that make my score worse?

Diet soda cravings and IF

I just wanted to give some encouragement to those addicted to diet sodas and starting IF. I, too, was very dependent on diet sodas (diet Mountain Dew, to be exact). I needed to have at least two a day and I went weeks without drinking more than a few sips of water. I felt like I needed my “fix” and sometimes I’d even sneak a sip or two right before bed. I truly felt like an addict, popping a can of soda just to take a sip to quench that desire.

Once I started consistently intermittent fasting on a high protein, moderate fat, and below 50g of carbs a day diet (I truly believe low carb is the key), I forced myself to drink water to stay hydrated. It was awful. I do not like plain water.

After cutting off the diet sodas cold turkey. I realized that I didn’t drink it for energy, but rather for comfort. I drank it when I was stressed, or sad, or tired. I truly feel like IF changed my brain and now I don’t desire it at all. I don’t desire sweets either. It’s such an odd feeling to see these things and not want them at all.

Now my skin is glowing, belly fat is leaving, sleep is improving, happiness is increasing, I know I will never go back to the poisonous trap of diet sodas again. My health is too important for that.
