Is that a thing or is it too much like a cargo cult mach 1? Has anyone done it to theirs? Paint or wrap? Flat black or gloss? Any black decals to accent?
I want to make my scoop black but idk if I'm crazy. Full disclosure I used to own a mach 1 and now have a GT and I kind of miss the black spoiler and accents at the bottom of the door too
I have a 2016 Kia Forte5 SX with 79,500 miles on it. Recently it popped a CEL for a cannister valve solenoid and was running very poorly when it happened. I replaced the part and it still was not operating correctly, with a misfire type bog 3500-4500rpms under 1/2+ throttle. I replaced the spark plugs and it almost entirely went away but it was still present. My next step was coil packs but I didn't get there. Its been probably 800+ miles since I did the plugs a few weeks ago (I had to drive out of state and back) and on my way home from work tuesday, the car shit itself. Misfiring, backfiring, bucking. I stopped and had it towed to the Kia dealer I purchased the car from in 2020.
Dealer diag said a spark plug broke in the engine and its my fault. I don't see how in the world it is my fault, especially after 800+ miles with the new plugs. They aren't OEM but oem equivalent iridium 25 dollar each nice plugs. I don't see how the plug and piston could make contact after 800 miles and it would be because my pregapped plugs were out of spec. It doesnt make sense that it didnt interfere for so long.
There was clearly something else going on with the car and I really don't know what to do but I can't afford the 15k they quoted me to replace the engine because the car isnt worth like 4k running. I think its a failure of the vehicle and it should be under the 10 year 100k warranty still.
Am I boned or is there some way I can get this some how sorted out?
