Learning about features that you didnt know about until recently.

So earlier I read about pushing the start button without the brake for a specific purpose.

When i bought the car a year ago, I received a short crash course in all of the technology and features of the car. Of course, only some of it stuck with me with such a short lesson.

My question is, have you mastered most of the modes, functions, and adjustments that the car has to offer? I ask because Mercedes supposedly has a course where they teach buyers all of the functions, so that when you leave, you know how to find everything.

I will give an example. Today in traffic I adjusted my mirror and something that said home lit up, and I thought what is this?

I probably know 50% or less of the features of this car, how about you? Mark 8.5 2025, 8800 miles.

Turbo cooldown

So just about every mechanic video on YouTube or Instagram says to sit in your car for 30 sec to a minute and let your turbo cool down. I have never had a turbo ca bfore this and have never heard of this suggestion before.

  1. Do you do it, and does it really prolong the life of the turbo by dissapatimg heat?

Bent factory wheels

So i have been lurking for 6 months and sadly have to make a post about this topic.

I went to Costco to get a balance and rotation and they identified 2 bent wheels. Luckily my salesman from the dealership strongly suggested that I must get the wheel protection package offered by the dealership., so I did. I make an appointment at the dealer and they say we must take pics and videos for the company that decides whether to fix or replace the wheels. Of course they will say fix, replacement costs real money, duh!

So now the dealer says our wheel guys is available Monday, and to drop it off for a 1 day repair. Luckily a loaner is available. I feel like this will be a recurring event, given the thin sidewall of these tires. What has your experience been with the 2025/ 26 mark 8.5 Golf R?
