IWTYO that women can control their ponytail swing

I was watching tv and saw two girls walking away, one with a pony tail swinging side by side and one without.

I asked my wife and she smiled and said it's a female super power.

Strata trying to make EV owners put in smoke detectors in garage

We are in a strata complex. Everyone has their own lockup garage on street level, but under the building.

We have an upcoming AGM where the request is to demand that ev owners put in smoke detectors and ensure they remain compliant each year.

Has anyone been forced to do this?

I'll be voting no - nobody would hear the alarm if there was a fire, and I don't want to have to pay that in addition to already being limited in what charging output I use.

Just feels like a push led by anti EV strata chairman.

Redundancy laws are too lax

Is it just me or are the laws and protections around redundancies too lax.

Too many companies I have worked at use redundancies as quick ways to remove people or cut costs.

I have 4 friends and my partner being made redundant and the benefits paid to them are just wild.

Companies giving 1 week, 2 weeks or even 2 months payment seems insignificant compared to the months the person will potentially be out of pocket (it took me a year to find my role).

The problem I see is that, while I believe change is required, nobody would be willing to be a face behind a movement like this.

Speaking up seems pointless and just adds a target to your own back.

Rant over. Discussion start on what should be the rules that businesses should have to follow.

Things like

- mandatory public reporting on their websites

- minimum payments of 3 months

- regulatory review for more than x% of the workforce
