Subaru Dealer - Honesty Problems (Rochester, MN)
ADVICE – Dealer Honesty (Purchasing Car – Certified Use)
Car: Certified Used Subaru Crosstrek w/10,000 Miles
Scenario: Like the Car, Price and Specs are Acceptable… will keep it 10 years
Status: I have a signature on a car. They are at the warranty phase.
Problem – Finance Person & General Manager
1-Overpriced the Warranty (plan on keeping it for 10 years) – Said it was the best pricing he could do. Soon later dropped the rate $2k. Quick internet searches indicate price gouging.
2-Lied - Said we had to buy an extended warranty the same day - this is not the truth, we had not taken possession of the car.
3-Lied - Said we had to buy the extended warranty from him – this is not the truth I can write a check to a competing dealer.
4- Lied - saying he hadn't received my emails (I have a program that documents he opened the email (30 min before calling me).

1-What would you do in this situation?
2-Who in a dealership can solve about this negative experience?
3-Am I overreacting?
I would like to keep my money in Rochester, MN and buy Local (may not be possible in this scenario.
