I’m at my first job after college and I’ve been with my girlfriend for 3 years now. We’ve been dating since college and today my parents just kept on poking me about marriage and how they have someone for me. They were essentially asking for my go ahead.

I straight up said no and then we went on a discussion and I hinted that I am with whom.

Then my mother’s reaction was odd and she said that my father won’t let that happen. She went on to enquire about her family and in the end told me to stay focused on my career and not to think about this.

I told my Girlfriend only half truth and removed the hurtful parts.
What should I do now? I thought I had time and my father has given me the ultimatum that I should tell him by December.
