HELP FEDEX: ACHORAGE CUSTOMS DELAY
Has anyone experienced a long FedEx customs clearance delay in Anchorage, AK with “pending customs review”?
I have an international shipment coming from Singapore that got stuck in Anchorage with a “Clearance delay” status.
FedEx brokerage contacted shipper earlier last week requesting documentation, which was submitted on friday may 1 to fedex submitted on may4 Monday to customs according to fedex cs agent. Since then, I’ve been following up daily with the assigned customs broker and even spoke to a supervisor.
The responses I keep getting are:
- documentation was submitted to CBP
- shipment is pending customs review
- no Entry ID is available yet
- no additional information has been requested so far
What’s making me anxious is:
- tracking status has not changed at all for days
- no ETA can be provided
- emails are not really being answered
- supervisors are sometimes unavailable
- phone support keeps repeating the same generic status
The declared description was “detailed,” so I’m confused why the review is taking this long.
For people who went through something similar:
- how long did your customs review take?
- did tracking suddenly update after days of silence?
- did FedEx brokerage communication improve eventually?
- did your shipment ultimately clear or get returned?
Trying to understand whether this level of delay and lack of visibility is normal during CBP review.
