How to hire a minivan in Helsinki online for a short time

Hei folks,

I’m looking to rent a minivan online in Helsinki for about 2 hours, with transparent pricing and clear terms like Wolt or Uber.

I’m interested in an hourly or short-term option with no hidden fees.

Is there a way to do this online?

Where to buy takeaway food in bulk in Espoo?

Hei folks,

When I cook at home, it costs me less than €2-3 per serving, but if I want something similar to a buffet, it usually costs around €14.

Since preparing food at home takes me 60 to 120 minutes per day, I’m looking for alternatives, such as a place where I can buy a variety of foods for a week or 3 to 4 days in bulk at a lower cost, ideally around €4 to €5 per serving.

Is there such an option in Espoo, or does anyone have any suggestions?

Spot electricity contract for autumn/winter - worth it for low usage? (under 100 kWh/month)

Hei everyone,

During spring and summer, I had a spot-price contract with ALY Energia, with a base price of €2.99/month. I don't have much experience using spot pricing during autumn and winter, so I'm wondering whether it still makes sense for me.

My usual electricity usage is during:

  • 7–8 AM
  • 11 AM–12 PM
  • 6–7 PM

My monthly consumption is less than 100 kWh, and my electricity bill has always been under €15/month so far (excluding the electricity transmission/distribution bill).

I checked Sahkonhinta.fi and also looked at the average spot prices from previous years, but I couldn't really reach a conclusion. The average prices seem to be heavily influenced by the very low prices during the night, which don't really represent when I actually use electricity, especially when I'm cooking with an electric stove.

For someone with this kind of relatively low consumption and usage pattern, would you recommend staying with a spot-price contract during autumn and winter, or switching to a fixed-price contract?

Any advice or experience would be appreciated!

Question About Overlapping Rental Contracts, Housing Allowance, and Insurance

Hei,

I’m moving to a new home, but my current rental contract runs until October 10th, while my new landlord wants the new contract to start on October 1st. This means the two rental contracts will overlap for 10 days.

In this situation, how should I handle my Kela General Housing Allowance and home insurance? I currently have home insurance with If.

Could you please advise me on how to manage the overlapping rental period and whether it will affect my housing allowance or insurance coverage?

Thank you for your help!

Where can I find a good second-hand bicycle in Espoo/Helsinki?

Hey folks,

I’m planning my first bikepacking trip and looking for an affordable, second-hand bike that’s technically in good condition and suitable for bikepacking.

Are there any specific shops or places in Espoo you’d recommend for buying a used bicycle?

Kiitos!
