Severe allergy symptoms?
I, 26M 5'7 265lbs, woke up about a month ago with mild ringing in my left ear after a severe itching sensation in it a few hours before. I've been in and out of doctors and emergency as the symptoms seem to just be progressing.
My doctor diagnosed me with rhinosinusitis and middle ear infection. But I didn't have any symptoms of an infection other than the ringing in my ears.
For a month now, the symptoms have progressed with the ringing seems to change in tone and frequency. It's move noticeable when lying down and tired. I've had pains and aches all throughout my body especially in my chest and arm, including a recent issue where the upper portion of my chest near my collarbone and into my throat and nasal passages all feel tight. I've had severe brain fog and some confusion where I'll forget what im talking about or about to say. Cold hands and feet that will pretty much last all day and insomnia. I also experienced nerve like itching in the back of my head, which I assumed was from the nerves in my nasal passages, being irritated, possibly from whatever is going on, or the use of flonase. This feeling has also recently appeared in the upper left area of my pectoral muscle and I noticed that when I press in on the area where the tickling sensation is it will radiate into my neck and roof of my mouth or nose possibly.
On and off, I've had headaches, (including cluster headaches 1 time) throbbing pain in both of my ears but not necessarily in my ears and more around the outside of my ear but feel like it's inside the top area of my ear. This has happened a few times since this started. My vision is also blurry or hard to focus, and some lightheadedness hat lasted a few days but went away and hasn't come back for about 2 weeks.
Since my diagnosis, I've been prescribed zyrtec, Flonase, hydroxazine, amoxicillin, and zoloft because of the sudden increase in anxiety with the ringing in my ears I stopped taking my amoxicillin when I had about 3 pills left because I had a tender sensation in my spleen area, along with having pale bowel movements immediately after eating. I was taken off of the zoloft and put on celexa as my doctor thought I was having a bad reaction to the zoloft. I've since only taken the celexa 1 time out of fear of the side effects. I've also been prescribed wellbutrin but am scared to take this as well.
I stopped the flonase because I noticed every time I would take it, the pressure in my chest would get worse, and I would feel like I couldn't breathe. This pressure has also managed to persist over the last few days, which I've been doing my best to ignore. I stopped the zrytec because I felt like it was drying my ears and nose out as my ears have been extremely dry in my ear canal with little to no discharge of earwax whatsoever. I take the hydroxazine as needed as im trying not to rely on it for sleep only when I have to.
About a week or 2 before this, I was having stomach issues with bloating and constipation. I also was having brain zaps in the middle to upper area of the back of my head. I do clench my jaw frequently without realizing im doing it, and I've started to wonder if im doing it in my sleep as well. I was sneezing a lot prior to this starting and haven't sneezed too much since this began.
I've been to the doctors so many times and the ER so many times because I feel so awful all the time and my sister was wondering the other day if I could just be having severe seasonal allergies as this year ive read the pollen and other allergens are pretty high.
