I was planning on changing the stem on my Trek emonda sl, however, I saw that the new stem (1st pic) has significantly less surface in the clamping area compared to the original bontrager stem (3rd pic). Will this be a problem on the carbon stem, especially since the emonda has an irregularly shaped steerer with significantly less surface to contact the stem, especially the front part where the big hole on the new stem will be in place.
