I've been out for just over a year now, and my mom is angry that I got to choose my new name instead of her and my father. My dad has no issue with it, but my mom thinks it's not fair. It's gotten to the point where she had my grandmother say something about it to me, which is very out of character for my mom to do that. I know she has a bit of transphobia she's working with, and she's come pretty far with it, but she just won't drop how sad/angry she is that I got to choose my new name. Is there some way I can explain to her why I choose it and not her? Am I actually in the wrong here?
