There were a few questions after my last post about the 9.3*64
I am in no way an expert in these matters, I am just a hunter who took the advice of a few of my mates when I was looking for a sambar cartridge. For detailed information about 9.3 cartridges check out https://www.ronspomeroutdoors.com/blog/the-different-93mm-cartridges.
I'm shooting S&B 268gr factory loads. They're about $4AU a pop, so pretty good value for a larger round. I looked at reloading but the projectiles that I wanted (outer edge 229gr) cost more individually than a loaded round at $163 for 25.
I am sure that people will tell me that I should just spend the money and buy the better product. That's fair, everyone has their own opinion, but as I am generally shooting smaller animals for meat, I wouldn't see the benefit and so far the S&Bs have held together well, as long as the shooter has played their part. I'll continue to collect projectiles and weigh them eventually.
If you have a look at the picture of the bull, you can see the skin split open on it's back where a 9.3 round skimmed it. It soaked up 3 solid shots before I delivered the final blow with my 30/30 between its eyes. Like with any calibre, the shooter has to play their part.
