I never really liked mech anime or mech in general even when I gave 86 a chance the mech aspect really didnt give me much of an appeal.

The first season of the anime is flat out mid tho there were some valuable info here and there its just way too generic plotwise a crybaby mc that cares about its friends, though I do love the part where some of the characters die but midway through I was getting disappointed because I thought this was becoming another anime like Akame ga kill where all the characters just die and the lack of info like where the legions come from are just major plot hole that made my mind wander instead of intently watching.

And there was the 2nd season, man was it definitely a ride I really love the addition of seeing them in a life where they live normally and have passion and things that take them occupied even though it was brief, also the addition of Fredrica was very nice definitely a heart melter throughout the entire season, but the main emphasis I really wanted to talk about was s2 ep10-12

I definitely thought it was going to turn into akame ga kill all over again when anju fell off the cliff and one by one they all have seem to met their fate, but Im much more glad that it didnt turn out that way and was very pleased to see that in the end Shin didnt also die because throughout the 1st season I already thought he was going to die in the final fight. And another major foreshadowing that was obvious but I forgot till she appeared, the princess herself, Ngl it was kinda ass that Shin didnt introduce himself right there and then but the ending made it all worth it, the rotten pigs getting what they deserve, Raiden becoming a mechanic, Kurena going out and being girly and shopping, Anju getting the passion of cooking, Theo being artistic, and last but not the least Shin finally having the resolution to find something to do in life and having something to look forward to in life, definitely a much needed catharsis for the grim reaper, and ofcourse the final scene where they are all united and took a picture(damn bro I cant convert my thoughts and feelings to words properly)

Theres so much more I can say but I really do understand what this series is trying to convey, imo it really just pushes the watcher to have hope because despite every difficult battle even in the most hopeless and lost situations there is still the possibility of transformation that you are not alone, and there will always be people there for you which I really needed to see bc Imsofhckingdepressed hahahcornyashit

Tldr:1st season mid, 2nd season super duper peak definitely was a worth watch
