Based on the text of other threads, I feel like the method with the Wago pigtails is the intended method to wire up a Gen3 50A.

I am only intending to use this device to monitor my energy usage, not to switch anything.

Is it okay to pigtail together 14AWG wire for the input power of the shelly device with the 8AWG wire used to power the range? Seems unsafe to pigtail together differing wire gauges which is something I have always avoided.

Is it possible to use an unrelated 15A circuit (see second image) to provide the input power / neutral for the EM Gen3, or does that not work? Does the device need to be on the same circuit so that it can tap it for line voltage reference?
