Keeping mobs out!?
Photos for engagement and to show 'problem areas' lol.
I know bedrock and Java are very different, so alot of the tricks I see used on YouTube or tiktok arent necessarily gonna work for me (bedrock on ps5) but I could have sworn we also had carpet tricks and stuff to keep mobs out? Ive been working on this world since... March I think? And I would like a way to 1. Keep mobs out of the castle gate without putting up fences/walls/doors so it keeps looking open with the drawbridge down, and 2. I have a field there by the windmill behind the church where Id like to put some sheep grazing with a shepherd like the villager took them up the mountain to graze. So, no fences, just wild pasture. I was gonna use leads to make a hitching post thing for the sheep, and I was trying to find a way for the shepherd be safe with a moss carpet ring pit around him or something (was possibly gonna trap him with with a trapdoor 'hat').
But no matter what trick I try, it doesnt seem to work. Zombies walk right across. Carpet, string, berry bushes, they dont care. Am I being silly and missing something? Do we just no longer have these options? Id love if anyone could give some tips and tricks.
For the record, my only mods on this world are a dynamic lighting one, Actions and Stuff, and Treecapitator. Im in Creative in the screenshots to take the photos, but I dont use command blocks or anything. So I would prefer ideas to be vanilla/survival friendly. Thank you to anyone who read my little rant here lol
