Todd’s “trees” quote and the landscape of Hammerfell
As many of you know Todd Howard when asked by Any Austin on his video counting the amount of trees in Skyrim, he said there would be “most definitely more” trees in TES6 than in Skyrim. (this is also the only official info of TES6 except for the engine which is hilarious but i digress)
We almost know for a fact that Hammerfell will be at least one of the places that TES6 will be set in due to the 2020 new years tweet and the employee pinterest leak stuff, + the story connections with Skyrim. Many people also speculate we’ll also have High Rock, or at the very least Daggerfall also featured in the game however i haven’t found any evidence to support this claim.
My question is: Do any of you lore masters know if there are enough forests or jungles in Hammerfell to support Todd’s claim or could this be a lead to how High Rock is also part of the game? Since most of High Rock is filled with greenery, in contrast to Hammerfell’s deserts and Skyrim’ tundra.
I’m curious because Todd has said that they were aiming for TES6 to be “the” fantasy RPG for a long time, and the biggest fantasy rpg release, possibly ever, entirely taking place in a desert or at least in a MENA-inspired setting doesn’t feel like what most rpg enjoyers are looking for in their ideal fantasy game. Speaking as a MENA citizen, this setting by itself doesn’t feel fun enough for me to be the ideal fantasy game, and High Rock, being inspired by middle-ages Western Europe would be the perfect addition to the game. However like i said earlier any inclusion of High Rock seems to be only speculation based off of nothing but vibes.
