Obviously not from US

Whenever I see videos of non-US people doing squats, or even an 'Indian sit', it's almost customary for US people to joke about their knees needing surgery. Plenty of other examples that I can't think off on top of my head.

I'm from somewhere in Asia but I don't hear often about people here needing knee surgeries or anything like that. Not even from neighbouring countries. Dare I say I can't even compete in running/marathon with a lot of older folks around here.

I guess the more pressing question is why do I only see US people having the most knee issues? Is there a common gene? Or mainly due to lifestyle choices?
