I am a young lawyer and have my own small firm. One of my clients is VERY behind on paying his bills. We're in the middle of a case, and I am honor bound to see it through - but I am incredibly frustrated to not be getting paid for my work. Yes, I should have cut off the client earlier, but it's too late for that now, given that we're mid-arbitration on a case. What can I do to get paid? Am I just screwed? What can I do to prevent this going forward. Please be kind.
