What is the most insensitive/rude thing someone asked you ?

Just for fun cause sometimes it's funny to be amazed at how rude someone can be without knowing it .

What is the most insensitive/rude thing someone asked you or told you about your MS ?

I got the "at least it's not cancer or something worse " or the usual " are you all better yet ?" often but yesterday I got a new one ! So stupid I was amazed how someone can be so clueless. It was so unbelievable I was actually surprised at how an adult can say that to another adult without any care in the world and afterward it made me laugh at how stupid they were .

So my husband co-workers know I have MS because my husband often has to take time off work to drive me to appointments etc They knew that I was starting a new treatment on Monday, the name of the treatment and that I had very bad headaches from it this week. Husband and I have known these peoples for 30 years .

Yesterday one guy stopped by with his wife and we were all talking and then the wife said :" we stopped by to see if you lost your hair yet . That's one of the side effects isn't it ? but you don't look like you did " and they both actually looked disappointed . I told them Yes it is one of the rare possible side effects BUT it doesn't mean it will happen to me . And if it does it will grow back . AND I only started on Monday so it's only been 1 week . It's a two year treatment so I'm not even halfway through it . You should give it time before wanting to see me bald ! They both laughed at my reply . But I was serious and amazed at how rude they could be . I wasn't hurt ( I'm gen X takes more than that to hurt my feelings, if you're from the same gen you know what I mean lol ) I was just amazed at how stupid some peoples can be .

ok now it's your turn , tell me the worse you got so far :)

edit cause I forgot to say the same couple also expected me to have a crooked spine eventually , I told them that's scoliosis , NOT sclerosis as in multiple sclerosis. lol

Kinda funny :D

Ok so I just finished my first week of mavenclad. When I first received the pills they were in their packaging ,surrounded by paper, in a plastic bag inside a cooler that was also full of those gel packs and some hard something marked TOXIC do not touch with bare hands , keep away from humans and animals , all of this in a huge box . There was instructions to call to confirm delivery and some labels . I called and was told to return everything ( except the meds) . I asked if I could simply just recycle it instead they said no . Throw it out was a big huge no no too . Must return everything . Too toxic for the garbage but I'll have to swallow the pills that were inside of all that .... Ok so I did as instructed .

Then I took the meds and every day I followed the instructions to wear gloves , wash hands even if gloves were worn , double wash all surfaces that came in contact with the packaging with hot soapy water , wash hands again etc Boring , weird but ok I still did it ...

Then today I was done so came time to dispose of packaging . Was told to double bag the packages and paperwork . Write CYTOTOXIC in red marker on the outside of the bag and bring to a pharmacy to be disposed of . Do NOT recycle , do NOT throw in the trash . Ok ... again I followed instructions... Who am I to question anything ? they're the experts and they want me to do this so ok .... Sent it all with my husband to the pharmacy

husband comes back and tell me the pharmacist looked at the bags clearly marked as instructed by the specialized pharmacy . Opened them , shoved his bare hands in there , handled everything and made sure there was no pills left in the packages . Husband told him :" I don't think we're supposed to touch it ..." Pharmacist said :" oh it's ok. that's fine , no big deal ... I'll dispose of it " and just shoved everything at the end of the counter and returned to his business , no hand washing or nothing

LOL

I can't help but laugh ! What was all those precautions they had me take for ???? They had me handle all of it as if it was super toxic and needed special care but the pharmacist handed it as if it was nothing more than some packs of gums lol

Anway it made me laugh :) And I figured someone else might enjoy the laugh too :)

I will still follow the instructions next month when come times for round 2 . BUT now I will do it will a smile on top of it all too lol
