To all architects here are these normal?

I've been an apprentice in this company for about 2 months now and it is my first job as a fresh grad. The application is very quick na same day call tapos kinabukasan interview then they asked me when can I start. But within those 2 months I learned about this small firm of 15 people including me, 2 bosses, and the HR. It's a design and build firm mostly they focused on residential projects. But during my apprentice I've heard a lot of stories and experiences form the other apprentices like the company does not have enough project, the salary is always delayed since there's always a miscommunication problem between the HR and the boss, ang nagmementor sa akin at guide ay kapwa apprentice ko rin which is just 10 months ahead of me na gusto na rin magresign since by the time he was hired all he did was model and render and client presentation no site. There's only 1 licensed architect which is the boss and she only guides us if we ask her but based on my coapprentice the architect is not that hands on just like before na narereview lang yung presentation and drawings kapag ipepresent na sa client or no review at all. A lot of backstabbing issue from the office mostly about client, workers, or other people. The company does not have enough project that by the time I was hired I only did working drawings and since I am new my coapprentice manage the modeling and rendering works so that it can meet the deadline since there are times that the boss would ask for a model and render and the deadline will be the same day or within 2-3 days. Do you think this company is good in the long run? The greatest pros here is it's just 30 mins away from our house.

Thank you in advance!

Hi, I need help. I’ve been confused these past few months since I started this apprenticeship (which is also my first job). It’s been two months since I was hired, and a lot has happened that made me see how the management operates in this company.

The problem is, I can’t easily resign because I need to log my apprenticeship hours for a future exam, and since I’m working in this company, I need my boss’s signature. However, I’m struggling with the work environment and the company’s system. The company is still new, and my boss mentioned that they are still figuring things out, but I’ve noticed several issues.

For example, I am being mentored by a co-apprentice who is only seven months ahead of me and is not yet licensed. In other companies, apprentices are usually mentored by licensed architects. I’m mostly given simple tasks, and I feel like I’m just helping my coworkers rather than growing, learning, or using my creativity. There was also a time when my co-apprentice asked if I could manage a project with a deadline of 1–2 days. I said I could realistically complete it in 3–5 days, so she ended up handling it herself to meet the deadline. Another concern is the delayed salary. Even my first salary was delayed by one day, then later by 2–3 days, and it even reached up to six days. It seems that HR is hesitant and scared to follow up with the boss about it.

Additionally, there is a lot of backstabbing among coworkers, especially involving HR. They often rant or talk negatively about others when those people are not around. I usually just listen and try not to engage, but it happens almost every day.

Based on my co-apprentice’s experience, she is also considering resigning because she feels that she is not growing due to the limited number of projects in the company.

The main advantages of this job are that the office is only 30 minutes away, there is a free service for part of the commute, and I get along well with my co-apprentice. I don’t know what to do. I’m confused about whether I should stay a bit longer since there is a three-month probationary period with a 30-day notice requirement, or if I should choose not to continue after probation. I also don’t know what reason to give if they ask, since resigning might seem questionable given how close I live to the office. I’m also worried since they will be short-staffed and might not accept my resignation since before I was hired they are also short-staffed and the previous apprentice supposedly will resign in January but they haven't found a new staff so she was extended until March and I don't know if it will happen to me too.

Thank you very much for your help.
