First time playing HG
I’m starting my first ever play through on HeartGold today. It’s been many years since I’ve played the OG gold/silver. Any tips for my play through? I thought about picking Totodile as my starter. Any recommended pokemon to try out would be greatly appreciated!

Should I keep using this team or swap someone out for Dusknoir? I feel like all of my pokemon are the “normal” selections and I’d like to finish this run with something not everyone uses.
