I’ve just received guidance from several of my suppliers recommending that we temporarily suspend international shipments due to recent changes affecting U.S. Customs and Border Protection processing.

As a result, clients with pending projects requiring international shipping have two options:

1. Proceed as planned.
We continue the project without delay. However, due to the increased uncertainty, shipping insurance will not apply. If the package is seized by Customs, the cost of replacement will be the client’s responsibility.

2. Pause the project.
You allow me to pause your project until the shipping situation becomes clearer and the risk returns to a more acceptable level.

Personally, I recommend the second option. Although I haven’t had any seizures to report, proceeding right now would effectively make your order a test case for the current shipping environment. If a seizure were to occur, the resulting replacement process would likely delay your project longer than simply waiting for the situation to stabilize.

As always, China will figure out a way and I don’t foresee this being a major issue long term.

I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for the incredible support and overwhelming interest in yesterday’s inventory drop. I truly appreciate every one of you.

I’m happy to say that we’re almost completely sold out. I still have the RCF Daydate, and the yellow dial OP41.

Even better, every watch purchased yesterday has already shipped. If you selected overnight shipping, I made it to UPS before the final truck left, so your package is already on its way. If I haven’t yet reached out with your tracking number, I will soon.

In addition to the inventory drop, I was also able to ship a large number of long-standing client projects today. Seeing so many watches finally heading out the door has been incredibly rewarding.

As always, every watch in this drop has received my Ultimate Service Package prior to being offered for sale. Each one has been fully serviced, refinished, waterproofed, regulated, ceramic coated, and put through my final quality control process before being listed. First and foremost, thank you all for your patience while I worked to bring this service to market. This has been in development for quite some time, and I wanted to make sure it met my standards before making it available.

Today, I am pleased to officially announce Ultimate for Precious Metals.

This is a very specific service, intended to be a low volume and high quality offering for those who want to invest in their gold watches, or for those who have very high end builds already which are in need of repairs/refreshing.

The process begins with a complete disassembly of the watch. The existing finish is removed, the case and bracelet are refinished to eliminate scratches and wear, and the components are then electroplated to approximately 5-6 microns before being reassembled, tested, and waterproofed.

As with all Kensington services, the movement is also fully serviced while the watch is apart.

Ultimate for Precious Metals Includes:
• Full movement service
• Complete disassembly and reassembly
• Case and bracelet refinishing
• Electroplating to approximately 5-6 microns
• Waterproofing
• Regulation

Because this process is extremely labor-intensive and performed almost entirely by hand, I will be limiting the initial release to 10 slots.

Current turnaround is estimated at 3-5 weeks. That is intentionally conservative. I would rather quote a longer timeframe and finish early than do the opposite. These watches go through complete teardown, refinishing, plating, reassembly, testing, and regulation, and I do not intend to rush any part of that process.

Condition Surcharge

The Oyster Perpetual has always represented Rolex at its purest. The beige dial in particular gives this watch a unique personality. In person, it does not look mismatched at all, and is actually quite stunning. Despite this, I wanted the community’s opinion. Plate yellow gold, or leave as is?

The Explorer II has always been one of my favorite Rolex references. It is rugged, understated, and incredibly versatile. Unlike many modern sports watches, it flies under the radar while still offering a distinctive look thanks to the fixed bezel and signature orange GMT hand.

I’m very excited to announce a number of positive changes coming to Kensington Timepieces as the company continues to expand. Over the last year, many of you have shared ideas, requests, and feedback with me, and I’ve been listening closely.

Starting now:

Bi-Weekly On-Hand Inventory Drops

Every two weeks, I will be posting a curated selection of immediately available watches for sale. These will include a mix of standard factory watches from manufacturers such as VSF, alongside select pieces from my own in-house KTF line.
All standard factory watches offered through these drops will receive my Ultimate Package prior to sale. That includes:
• Full movement service
• Waterproofing
• Complete exterior re-brushing and refinishing
• Polishing to enhance luster and metal definition
• Ceramic coating for long-term protection and visual depth

This creates an opportunity to purchase a fully sorted piece with my highest level of refinement already applied, without needing to send your own watch in or wait through a service queue.

Gold Wrapping / Plating Services

I’m also very pleased to officially announce that gold wrapping and plating services will soon be available through Kensington Timepieces for both new and pre-owned watches.

This service will be baked into a service package which will sit above my current Ultimate Package, and will be known as “Ultimate for Precious Metals.”

Pricing and full specifications will be announced soon, but the goal is to offer a higher-end U.S.-based option without the excessive turnaround times that have unfortunately become common elsewhere in the industry.

In addition, substantial improvements have been made to the white gold formula being used. The updated finish introduces a warmer and more accurate hue consistent with genuine Rolex white gold references, which historically have a very distinct tone that most plating providers fail to capture properly.

A dedicated announcement post covering finishes, examples, turnaround times, and ordering information will be published within the next 2-3 weeks, which is also when I will begin formally accepting orders for the service.

And to reiterate, yes, this will absolutely be available for pre-owned watches you already own and send in.

Hello!

I’m only a few days into owning this beautiful car, and I’ve already encountered a “Suspension Malfunction - Drive at Max 50 MPH” warning on cold start every morning. The interesting part is that it completely goes away when I restart the car after it warms up and does not return for the rest of the drive or on any subsequent drives throughout the day. Only happens in the morning.

The car has no hydraulic leaks, and it underwent both a pre-purchase and post-purchase inspection at a very reputable exotic/European shop. They were extremely thorough and found no suspension-related issues whatsoever. The only issue discovered was a small leak from the coolant expansion tank, which I had replaced immediately.

Thankfully, I also have a comprehensive exotic-oriented bumper-to-bumper warranty for the next five years which I verified does cover the ABC suspension components. That said, I’m completely new to owning an ABC-equipped Mercedes and would appreciate insight from those with more experience. I intend on keeping this car for as long as is possible and want to learn its quirks and mechanical needs. I am also looking for recommendations for a comprehensive bi directional OBD scanner for Mercedes products, as I had VCDS for my A8 and could fix most issues myself with that.

From what I’m reading online, possible causes seem to include:
weak ABC pump
ride height / suspension travel sensor

Does that sound plausible?

The car otherwise drives beautifully, rides perfectly once the warning clears, and I’m having no issues raising or lowering the suspension.
