Different relationship with alcohol after stopping Wellbutrin
Wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar since stopping Wellbutrin? I was on Wellbutrin for a few years, started during Covid and post grad when my life was kind of spiraling. I noticed that my alcohol tolerance was a lot lower (expected) and my hangovers were AWFUL. Chalked it up to the meds and getting older in general. The issue was that I found it very difficult to stop drinking once I started, even though I knew it would make my life a living hell for the proceeding 3-5 business days. I ended up having to stay away from alcohol altogether as a result for a bit. Before stopping Wellbutrin, I went back to just drinking socially/during special occasions.
Since being off Wellbutrin, I’ve found that my relationship with alcohol has done a complete 180. My tolerance is a lot higher, to the point where 1-2 drinks has almost no effect yet I have no desire to continue drinking. My sleep quality stays high even if I have a few drinks, and zero trace of a hangover or “off” feeling.
Kind of similar situation with my appetite as well. Found it very easy to overeat and eat constantly on Wellbutrin but now being off it I feel so different because I’m actually getting the “I’m content, I dont need to finish this meal” feeling which seems odd to me. I know most people experience the opposite while on Wellbutrin, so I was interested to know if anyone could relate.
