I have been driving for Uber for over a year, 2300 trips with the vast majority being deliveries. I had just moved, and I was about to enroll in the online courses through ASU that they offer as a promotion, when I received a notice that my account will be deactivated after failing my background check. The specific charge that disqualifies me was processed on 05/01/2023, and I’ve read online that it should only disqualify me for three years, but naturally that isn’t confirmed by Uber themselves. The diamond support is completely useless, and they tell me they cannot re-run the check despite SambaSafety saying that Uber MUST be the ones request a new MVR report. I now have no job, have lost my college prospects, and can do absolutely nothing to convince them to re-check my eligibility, even when I have reason to believe that I might be eligible again. They have been unhelpful to the point that it almost feels actively malicious. Please consider this when you think about whether or not you want to support or work with Uber in the future, thanks.
