Best Lighting for Sloped Ceiling

Best Lighting for Sloped Ceiling

I am remodeling my new home. I didn’t even notice the guest bedrooms didn’t have any overhead lighting until my first night at the house.

I’m trying to figure out the best type and configuration of lighting. My husband wants to keep it simple and stick to sconces and lamps, but I’m not sure it will be bright enough to actually get stuff done (big light person here). If we go with overhead lighting, I’m torn between can or a larger pendant. Neither of us are a fan of fans (no pun intended), so that’s out for us.

The angle of the room makes this more challenging, but it’s not a huge room. Any thoughts or personal experience/preference welcome!

I am replacing all of the flooring in my new home as it is mostly carpet, and I’m allergic. I can only budget for one of the two flooring types I want. The other flooring will have to wait a few more months. I decided to lay the laminate down first as it will go in the majority of the rooms, and I can’t afford the full renovations for the main room I’m putting tile (kitchen). Will there be issues with putting down laminate first? I understand there may be a transition issue, but is there any way to prep for that? I’m okay with my house looking a little crazy in the meantime. Are there any other concerns I should consider?
